Saint Cecilia, musicians' patron saint
On November 20th, 21st and 27th, Poble Nou de Benitachell will celebrate its fiestas to honour Saint Cecila, musicians’ patron saint.
Saturday, November 20th at 19:00 h. Mass to honour Saint Cecilia and concert by the Poble Nou de Benitachell church chorus.
Sunday, November 21st at 18:00 h. Concert by the Municipal music school’s children and youth bands.

Lately, many residents of Benitachell have reported reckless driving and speeding in residential areas.
In the first trimester of 2010, the Local Police carried out an educative campaign based on advice and communication with the citizens. It worked for some sectors of the population, but given the current situation, it didn’t prove totally successful.
There will be card games and other activities
From November 2nd to 7th, Benitachell will hold the Senior Citizens Cultural Week. There will be contests, talks, plays, balls and many more activities!
This week is organised by the Poble Nou de Benitachell Town Hall and the Pensioners and Retired People Association.
Most activities and meals will be typical Spanish. This certainly is a great opportunity to experience the real Spanish culture.
Yoga brings many benefits to your health
Those interested in learning yoga or attending yoga lessons can attend the yoga course organised by the Poble nou de Benitachell Town Hall. Classes are conducted every Tuesday and Thursday, from 17:45 h to 18:45 h. Those interested can sign up to the course until October 15th in the Town’s Public Library. The course starts on October 19th 2010. The price is €120 and there is a €10 discount for members of any association in town.
Yoga is a 2,000 years old tradition. This technique combines mind, body and spirit and channels them through an intuitive and practical knowledge of health, body, emotions and mind. Yoga builds up this unity of body, emotions, mind and being.
Bobbin lace is a valuable and delicate craft
Next Sunday, October 17th 2010, Poble Nou de Benitachell, in Alicante province, will hold the X Bobbin Lace Meeting, organized by the Benitachell Housewives Association (Asociación de Amas de Casa de El Poble Nou de Benitatxell), together with the Town Hall.
The planning is as follows:

10:00 h: Bobbin Lace meeting and other activities.

If you are fond of crafts and live around Poble Nou de Benitachell, know that the Benitachell Housewives Association (Asociación de Amas de Casa de Benitatxell) is organizing three workshops for the 2010-2011.
The first workshop is bobbin lace and will start on October 20th 2010, every Wednesday from 15:30 to 18:30 h. The second workshop is hemstitch, from October 19th 2010 every Friday from 15:30 to 18:30 h. The third one is embroidery over tulle, and will take place every Monday from 16:00 to 19:00 h, starting on October 18th.
