There will be card games and other activities
From November 2nd to 7th, Benitachell will hold the Senior Citizens Cultural Week. There will be contests, talks, plays, balls and many more activities!
This week is organised by the Poble Nou de Benitachell Town Hall and the Pensioners and Retired People Association.
Most activities and meals will be typical Spanish. This certainly is a great opportunity to experience the real Spanish culture.
Benitachell Senior Citizens Cultural Week:
Tuesday, November 2nd: From 16:00 to 18:00 h, card games and domino championships will be held in the Casa del Jubilado. 3 prizes will be distributed among the winners. Later, at 21:00 h, there will be a sandwiches dinner and a ball.
Wednesday, November 3rd: At 18:00 h, a talk on “Valencia Popular Culture” (in Spanish) will be presented by Francesc Xavier Llorca, from Ibi. At the end, there will be hot chocolate for the attendants.
Thursday, November 4th: Spanish cocas (cakes) for the attendants and a ball. It will start at 22:00 h.
Friday, November 5th: A theatre play in Spanish by Siete Comediantes will start at 22:00 h. A musical comedy by Noche de Ronda will follow.
Saturday, November 6th: The Rondalla Colivenca Mariachi band from Onil will present a music show at 22:00 h. There will be cocas maría and mistela (hot punch) for the attendants.
Sunday, November 7th: There will be a catholic service at 18:00 h, with a procession, a snack, fireworks, a ball, a music show by Colla de Dolçainers la Llebetja and a bouquet will be given to the oldest person in town.
