Holidays 2012-2013 events at Benitachell
This Christmas will be unique in Poble Nou de Benitachell, with loads of activities starting at early December as we show you below:
– Saturday 8 at 12:30 h. Inauguration of Nativity scene located at the Market Square.
– Sunday 9 from 10:00 to 17:00 h.: Christmas Market with carols, Middle East dance, the “Burreta de Nadal” (Christmas Donkey), hot chocolate and several stands on Calle Mayor and Jose Antonio St.
Benitachell Christmas Market
Next Sunday 9 December will be held the Benitachell’s Christmas Market 2012, a day to enjoy the seasonal spirit and visit the various stands offering Christmas products.
10:00 h.: Market opening. In this market we can find a large number of booths that will offer different services and products and will give us creative ideas for an early Christmas gifts shopping.
CV-737 Moraira-Benitachell road
The Alicante Council announced to the Benitachell Town Hall that repair works will be carried out on the Benitachell to Moraira Road (CV737), more specifically on the 1,4 kilometre point.
This specific part of the road is considered as dangerous and, on words of the Council, the works will reduce the risk of accidents. Some of the improvements will include banking of the road and the asphalting, to make the curve at this point less dangerous. The works will be carried out on the next days.
Christmas street markets
Would you like to take part in the Benitachell’s Christmas Market 2012? You already can register in this street seasonal market organized by the City of Poble Nou de Benitachell and is scheduled for Sunday 9 December. The Economic Development and Festivals Councils planned a full day with activities for all ages as a kickoff for the holiday season.
There is a very special schedule planned for this year aimed to repeat the success of last year market. The trade fair will offer a wide variety of products displayed in the stands located in the Mayores and José Antonio Streets. The entertainment will be on charge of several musical performances, children plays and musicals, arrival of Christmas cards loaded in the bags of the Christmas “burreta” (dorkey) and many other activities from 10:00 and 17:00 h.
Santa Maria Magdalena church
Residents and visitors of Poble Nou de Benitachell will have the opportunity to enjoy a free Gospel concert tonight at 20:30 h. in Santa María Magdalena church. This concert will be the first event of the cultural program scheduled for Christmas 2012.
Moraig Beach
Josep Femenia -Mayor of Poble Nou de Benitachell– and Rosa de los Rios –Head of Coasts Affairs Bureau- visited the access area of Moraig Creek (close to the southern entrance to the Cumbre del Sol) where City Council has proposed enabling a platform for the creation of 60 parking spaces and the improvement works of the area that would allow up to 130 parking places by the creek.
The mayor explained the need to manage traffic in the area (which in the summer months has a very intense activity) that, according to municipal data, reaches a daily average of 300 cars. Facing this situation, the City Council has proposed the creation of a parking space in an attempt to alleviate the area as far as possible.
