Fire Department
Benitachell association of international neighbors (AVIB) started a campaign to raise funds for the local Fire Department, a group that now has 14 years performing task in fire extinction and prevention.
The AVIB association has been working with the Volunteer Firefighters from few years now, through donating a share of the annual dues of its members and supporting the department in organizing the collection of donations. (more…)

Riurau de la Torra
This year several municipalities of the Costa Blanca have been working to raise awareness of the “RiuRaus” buildings. These constructions are closely tied to the raing culture of the landscape of the Marina region. The Valencian Riuraus are emblematic and unique worldwide, and from eighteenth to early twentieth centuries were used to convert the Muscat grape in raisins.
Benitachell is one of the municipalities that are working to recover and publicize this traditional construction through the creation of cultural walking routes to places such as the “Riurau of Torra” a private property currently under rehabilitation. The riurau main features are the pillars of rough stone and wooden raisin drying ovens. (more…)

Benitachell town cultural activities
During August, the City of Poble Nou de Benitachell is organizing the “Summer Walks” around town; a healthy activity for all ages, which will take place every Tuesday and Thursday. Besides that, every Friday will be outdoor sports sessions in Plaza Nueva Sq.
Walking tours are taking place on the nights of Tuesdays and Thursdays through different areas such as Abiar, La Torra, Els Benitatxells and Calistros. The routes begin at 22:00 h. from the City Council. The tours’ duration is about 40 minutes and are suitable for all the family. (more…)

Colla La LLebetja concert
Benitachell’s drums and flute band “Colla La Llebetjà” is celebrating its fifth anniversary today 19 July (just at the eve of the local festivities) with a concert.
