Denia: Las Rotas lookout point
Denia is a city in the north of Alicante province brimming with the joyfulness of the Mediterranean, surrounded by mountains and secret hideaways that are incredibly spectacular.
The Mirador las Rotas is next to the Provincial highway of Barranc del Monyo in Denia. This lookout point is set among the rocks of the beach that covers the southern part of the town’s sea shore. From the mountain heights you can see all the charm of its crystal waters and sandy coves below, and admire the upland landscape.
It is easy to reach by car but it is difficult to find a parking spot close to Mirador las Rotas, especially in high season. However, there are other options that you can choose for making the most of this lovely place without having to seek a parking space. One way to get there is on a path that is a 10 minute walk along Denia’s rocky coastline. Another possibility is to catch the bus on the beach front which drops you off at the Mena restaurant. Once you arrive, remember to get your binoculars out so that you can make the most of the natural beauty all around you!
Jávea: Mirador del Cap de Sant Antoni and Mirador de la Granadella
As you know, Jávea is a favourite tourist destination. Every year thousands of people wander its streets enjoying the most charming parts of the town. Another option for winding down and just taking in the beauty of the place is at the El Cabo de San Antonio or Cap de Sant Antoni lookout point. This beauty spot is set in a nature reserve where the mountain of Montgó rises. An exclusive lookout point next to the lighthouse, where you can view all of Javea’s marvels.
To get there, take the Xàbia-Dénia (CV-736) road and continue until you reach Cap de Sant Antoni. When you arrive, leave your car and simply delight in the Mediterranean!
Another alternative in Jávea is the amazing Mirador de la Granadella, next to the little cove that bears its name. It offers incredible views, as well as being part of the route that runs all the way to Cumbre del Sol.
Benitachell: Poble Nou, Puig Llorença look out points, Penya-Segats trail lookout point, Cala del Moraig
Benitachell is the jewel of the Costa Blanca. Its incredible beaches and excellent Mediterranean climate makes it the perfect tourist destination. Its outlook points afford the very best views of the sun setting over the Mediterranean.
From Mirador del Poble Nou you can see the fields and vineyards of this area. Hills and valleys, coves and cliffs, inland and coastline; essential contrasts where you can stop and breathe in the pure air and the wonderful atmosphere of the natural beauty that surrounds you.
The Mirador del Puig Llorença, is set on a clifftop 445 metres high where you are treated to 360º views. An exclusive spot, where you will see the sea on one side, and mountains on the other! Another must see is in Cumbre del Sol, we mean the Cala del Moraig lookout point, an absolute must see.
Altea (sierra): Mirador Forat de Bernia
One of the most beautiful towns on the Alicante coast is Altea. Its streets, its ancient town centre, and the peculiarity of its white painted houses make it a very special place. A town with something to photograph and see everywhere you look.
The Mirador del Forat de Bernia is an amazing lookout point in the mountain sierra! A place that you can reach by car or by a footpath. Once you are there, taking some panoramic snapshots is an indispensable requirement. It is the most iconic peak in Alicante province. What is special about this sierra is the tunnel you need to go through to reach the mountain. So don’t forget your torch!

The Costa Blanca boasts over 200 km of coastline with 170 beaches, many of them with an EU blue flag. Given these dimensions, the area is considered to be one of the best and most fun coastlines in Spain for divers.
The Costa Blanca, and particularly its northern end, is home to some of the most delightful sandy coves and beaches in the Spanish Levante. With water temperatures averaging 20ºC in summer and 14ºC in winter, snorkelling, diving or any other water sport is practically a requirement here. However, 170 beaches are a lot of beaches, and so, would it help if we told you about some of the best ones?
A classic: La Granadella
Considered to be one of the finest beaches in Spain, Granadella is a magical spot where the sea and the mountains merge to perfection. Thanks to the peaceful waters and the seabed of gleaming white sand, diving here is a unique experience and ideal for watching marine life.
If you want more, there is another possibility for diving in Jávea in Portixol, known as the most “instagrammable” beach on the Costa Blanca. What makes it so special? Probably the fact that it forms a bay surrounded by high cliffs.
Diving at the foot of the Peñón de Ifach?
Yes it is possible. We are talking about El Racó, a pebbly little cove with crystal clear waters brimming with sea creatures of every kind, with a perfectly signposted underwater route, and so it is ideal for diving and snorkelling fans.
Los Arcos Cave: emblem of the Costa Blanca
El Poble Nou de Benitachell has one of the best beaches for diving namely, Cala Moraig. This cove harbours some of nature’s wonders among its rocks. Not only that, what makes this place really special is the los Arcos Cave. One of nature’s most stunning spectacles, it has been produced by the sea eroding the rocks over the years to form a cave with natural stone pillars. It is very popular with snorkellers and it is relatively easy to reach. Other interesting routes for diving in Benitachell can be found in Cala Llebeig and Cala Testos, and for more information about these beaches check out this link.
For those seeking something completely different, there’s nothing better than spending a few days at the impressive DreamSea Mediterranean Camp, at Cala Moraig, which has attained almost cult status with Mediterranean lovers, for its amazing glamping experience. Nature + Sea + Activities, what more could you ask?
Close to Benitachell, in the municipal district of Benissa, you’ll find cala Pinets. This sheltered yet rather wild little cove has a pebbly shore. It is ideal for switching off while you snorkel or just decide to spend some time communing with the sea.
And there’s more! Altea, Dénia…
As we mentioned at the start of this blog, with over 200 kilometres of coastline there are many (but never too many) beaches. Not all of these are found close by villages and little known spots. In popular towns like Altea you can also find some interesting possibilities for having a good time such as Mascarat beach. Furthermore, in Dénia you will find the clearest most transparent waters of the Costa Blanca at El Fresquito beach, which may not be the best known, but this is precisely where its charm lies.
Now perhaps you have a better idea of how many beaches, coves and caves there are of every kind and for every taste. Make the most of them because there is still a month of summer left and you can enjoy every single one, and then tell us which is your favourite! Don’t miss out on our coming artícles about other activities and things to do on the Costa Blanca Norte.

It has some extremely diverse ecosystems thanks to different microclimates in the zone. It’s a true wonder of nature!
With its fantastic landscapes and ecology it is one of the most important parks in the Comunidad Valenciana. It is particularly striking for its deciduous woodland. The extensive forest has led to a wealth of rich and diverse wildlife. Robin, wild boar and sparrow hawk are just some of the species that inhabit this nature reserve.
The la Font Roja Natural Park has several hiking trails such as the ‘Yellow Route: El Menejador’, the “Red Route: Barranc de l’Infern’ and the ‘Blue Route: El Xicotet’.
