The Costa Blanca Has 2 More Blue Flag Beaches Than Last Year! Discover Which Are Closest to You!

The Costa Blanca Has 2 More Blue Flag Beaches Than Last Year! Discover Which Are Closest to You!

As a resident of Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol, you’re no stranger to Blue Flag beaches, such as Cala Moraig which has been awarded this title many times. We’re sure you’ve already fallen in love with its crystalline-waters and superb services and amenities. However, you might be curious to learn more about the other Blue Flag beaches that are just a stone’s throw away from your home in Cumbre del Sol.

The Costa Blanca is a privileged location for many reasons, but the fact that it is the coastline with the most Blue Flags in all of Spain exemplifies why it’s one of the most popular tourist destinations. Spain has been the world leader of Blue Flag beaches since 1987, and this year, the Valencia Community is once again the autonomous community with the highest number of prized beaches. That being said, Alicante is the province with the highest number of all for a grand total of 86 Blue Flags, more than Valencia and Castellon combined.

If you’re unfamiliar with what makes a beach worthy of this title, the recognition is based on four benchmarks:

  • The quality of the sandbanks and waters.
  • Environmental conditions such as cleanliness, well-appointed sanitary facilities and properly maintained surroundings.
  • The presence of lifeguards, rescue and healthcare services, as well as accessibility.
  • Environmental education and information about the ecosystem, code of conduct and water quality.

Let’s travel just outside of Benitachell and discover all the Blue Flag beaches in Marina Alta. In Javea, close to Cumbre del Sol, you’ll find three blue flag beaches: La Grava, l’Arenal and Granadella. Just as close, there’s Teulada with three more beaches: El Portet, l’Ampolla and Platgetes. Not far from these, you’ll also find Cala Fustera in Benissa.

If you want to take a day trip down south, you can head over to Calpe or Altea, two coastal towns just thirty minutes away. Both have three blue flag beaches each; in Calpe, there’s la Fosa, Cantal Roi and Arenal Bol; meanwhile, in Altea, there are beaches like Cap Blanc, L’Espigó and La Roda. In L’Alfàs del Pi, a quaint Spanish town, there’s La Playa Racó de L’Albir. Of course, we can’t leave out Benidorm! The city boasts of three blue flag beaches: Playa de Levante, Playa de Poniente and Playa del Mal Pas.

Get your sun hat, sandals and towel and get ready to go for a swim! Living at Cumbre del Sol is synonymous with living in a paradise where every day is like a summer holiday. What better way to make the most of your day than to head over to one of these Blue Flag beaches? Fall in love with everything that makes living on the Costa Blanca idyllic.

Fall in love with the cultural and architectural beauty of the Riuraus route

Fall in love with the cultural and architectural beauty of the Riuraus route

There are countless hidden secrets on the Costa Blanca, more specifically in the municipality of Benitachell. These secrets are part of what makes life at Cumbre del Sol a unique experience. If you are a self-proclaimed lover of culture, history and architecture, then you’ll love discovering the Riuraus route (Ruta dels Riuraus).

The riuraus are 18th-century structures, built to protect grapes from the effects of humidity and rain. The buildings were made of stone, with roofs formed out of wooden rods and clay titles. These architectural gems became a symbol of economic prosperity during the 19th-century, as the Marina Alta region experienced an economic boom thanks to their raisin production.

The famous Riuraus route runs through the towns of Benitachell, Benissa, Gata, Jesús Pobre, La Xara, Llíber, Parcent, Ondara, Pedreguer, Teulada-Moraira, Xàbia, and Xaló. The itinerary is a cultural journey through the history and way of life of the ancestors who once inhabited the municipalities of the Marina Alta.

Are you up for discovering all the secrets this route has to offer? The first thing you should know is that the route doesn’t have a concrete starting point. You can begin by discovering the riuraus closest to your home, in Benitachell. Afterward, you can continue by visiting the rest of the municipalities that make up the route. No matter which path you decide to follow, the most important thing is that you enjoy every step of this journey into another era.

However, to get the most out of the route, we do recommend you visit the different municipalities’ tourist offices so they can give you all the necessary information and instructions. Furthermore, you can visit house-museums where you’ll find objects and settings characteristic of the era.

The brochures of the Riuraus route will also serve as a guide and help you make the most of the itinerary. For example, you can discover which have been best-preserved, the best views to contemplate them and where to enjoy the region’s delicious gastronomy.

Make the most of living at Cumbre del Sol and enjoy all the cultural opportunities you have nearby. Add the Riuraus route to your list of summer plans and discover all its secrets – it will be a memorable experience!

Wrapping Up the Region of Valencia Tennis Challenge

Wrapping Up the Region of Valencia Tennis Challenge

Last weekend we hosted the Region of Valencia Tennis Challenge, a very important professional sporting event, given it was the first to take place in Spain after the state of alarm was declared in March due to the COVID-19 crisis.

Held in our Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol sports centre, four TOP 100 tennis players on the ATP circuit participated in the event: Roberto Bautista, Pablo Carreño, Alex de Miñaur and Pablo Andújar. During the two daily matches that were played, the players competed using the round-robin format in which the winner would be the best of 3 sets.

The event got underway on Friday, the 5th and it was De Miñaur who scored highest with 6-3, 6-2 over Andujar. The latter executed his plays very well and gave a good fight, but it wasn’t enough to beat De Miñaur.

During the second match, Carreño and Bautista competed in a close game in which Carreño defended his position expertly. However, in the end, it wasn’t quite enough, as Bautista obtained a 6-4, 6-4 victory.

The event continued into its second day on Saturday when Andujar and Bautista went head to head. Bautista sought his second consecutive victory after beating Carreño on Friday and achieved it in just two games with a score of 6-1, 6-1.

The match between De Miñaur and Carreño followed. The young Australian, who had already beaten Andujar on Friday, almost lost the first set, but then was able to recover during the second set with only one break. He rose to victory with a score of 7-5, 6-4.

Finally, on the third day of the event, the organization had to make the difficult decision to cancel the final matches due to heavy rain that made it impossible to finish.

At VAPF, we are proud to be able to take part in an event of this nature and this is why we are working to make Cumbre del Sol one of the benchmark residential developments on the Costa Blanca.

Outdoor Activities to Enjoy During Phase 1

Outdoor Activities to Enjoy During Phase 1

A couple of weeks ago, Benitachell was one of the first municipalities to enter phase 1 of the de-escalation process. However, there are still some doubts about what the mobility limitations are. Below, we explain the outdoor activities you can enjoy and the guidelines for doing them in the best possible way. Remember to keep a safe distance and follow hygiene measures to avoid falling sick.

Hiking

The good thing about living in the mountains is that you can enjoy many pleasant activities, such as hiking. Until recently, you could only go hiking between 6:00 to 10:00 in the morning and 20 to 23 o’clock, but now you can do it at any hour of the day. This freedom is due to the fact that Benitachell has less than 10.000 inhabitants – yet another great advantage of living in this town!

However, you should bear in mind that this activity can only be carried out once a day for a maximum of one hour and always remaining within the municipality of Benitachell.

Walks by the Beach

If you prefer to take a stroll along the beach or boardwalk, put on some comfortable shoes and start walking. Once again, you can do this activity at any time of the day, for a maximum of 60 minutes, without leaving the municipality of Benitachell.

Active Tourism and Outdoor Activities

If you love nature and the outdoors, you may be wondering if you can partake in active tourism activities such as canoeing, climbing or surfing. The answer is yes. However, you must know that a maximum of 10 people are allowed per activity at one time. In addition, you must also make an appointment with a company which specialises in the activity you wish to do.

Golf and Tennis

Another great advantage of having entered phase 1 of the de-escalation process is that you can enjoy sports that do not require physical contact, such as golf and tennis. Remember that in order to practice these sports, you must make an appointment and reserve a court before going to play. Keep in mind that you won’t be able to use the changing rooms either. You were looking forward to getting back to your normal life and now you slowly can!

These are the main activities you can do outdoors near your home at Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol. Finally, you can once again enjoy all the advantages of living in this paradise located between the sea and the mountains!

The Latest Trends That Will Highlight the Beauty of Your Home on The Costa Blanca

The Latest Trends That Will Highlight the Beauty of Your Home on The Costa Blanca

Our architects create modern and sleek designs which are inspired by the idyllic setting of our residences. Every home is illuminated by an abundance of natural light and they all boast of stunning views to the Mediterranean. With architecture and surroundings like that, it’s only natural to want to decorate your home in ways that will accentuate its pre-existing beauty. Just like fashion, interior design is always changing and evolving, but don’t worry! We’re here to tell you all about the newest trends, so you can give your home a spring/summer 2020 upgrade.

We’re sure you know the Pantone colour of the year is classic blue, and although we’re almost halfway through the year, this colour is still widely popular. Those who live on the Costa Blanca are in luck, as this colour is present from every window thanks to the sea views and sunny skies. Adding monochromatic accents can help highlight the beauty of your home’s white walls and a wealth of natural light. Other bright colours like kelly green, saffron yellow and flame scarlet are also in fashion this spring. Cushions, throws, chairs and artwork in these colours will make your home shine.

If you prefer something more understated, you can go for earth tones that will also connect your interior spaces to the outdoors. When it comes to furniture, rustic, wooden and more natural pieces is growing in popularity and can help create a continuous harmony between the outside and inside of your home. They offer a gorgeous contrast to the elegant and modern lines of your home and add warmth to any space. Combine rattan or wicker furniture with metal pieces to heighten the contrast and create a sense of natural luxury.

Biophilic design has been a trend since last year and it’s only grown in popularity. What better way to connect your home to the unmatchable natural environment around it than to bring nature indoors? Plants and florals tie in beautifully with the previous design tips we’ve given. Sustainability is perhaps the most important idea in design, which is why we recommend finding upcycled furniture or vintage pieces for your home.

Concepts like abstract and eclectic design are very in. One of the biggest inspirations right now are designs from the 60s and 70s.  Think outside the box and incorporate bold artworks and lampshades or even less conventional furniture, such as rounded or completely circular pieces. If retro-futurism isn’t for you, you can mix more classic elements from the 40s or 50s into your design to give it a simple but still refined and more structured look.

We hope our tips have inspired you to do something different and see your home in a new, even brighter light.  For more inspiring content, be sure to follow us on our social networks and keep an eye on our blog, where we’ll keep you up to date with tips and new ideas.
