Feb 4, 2021 | Activities/Services, Cumbre del Sol
With the latest travel restrictions and hotel closures throughout the Community of Valencia, you may be wondering what activities you can do in your free time. Don’t worry, because the calendar for the next few weeks is filled with fun activities all without having to leave Cumbre del Sol! Who said they were bored?!
“Foto Dona” Photography Contest
March 8th, International Women’s Day, is just around the corner. And, as usual, many activities are celebrated with the aim of recognising women’s role in society. One of them is the Foto Dana photography contest, organised by the City Council of Benitachell.
Interested in participating? Take a photo of one or more women at any moment in their lives, and if they are from Benitachell, even better! Of course, don’t forget that they must be of legal age. Do you already have an idea of who you’d like to feature? Move quickly; you have until February 19th to participate!
III Micropoetry “El Poble Nou en Vers” Contest
Continuing with our suggestions for cultural activities, we invite you to participate in the III Micropoetry “El Poble Nou en Vers” Contest. Bring out your inner poet and get into writing!
There are two categories: one for adults and one for those under 16. In both cases, you can submit up to 3 micropoems that are between 4 and 6 verses. And remember to submit it before March 5. Put on your creative hat and start thinking about what your poems are going to be about!
The Technological ADL Activities
The Technological ADL program organised by Creama Xàbia seeks to promote the digitization of companies through free training. During the coming weeks there are many events that have been organized as part of this program. From motivational interviews to sessions to learn how to create your own podcast or communicate through video call applications. Find the scheduling here.
Activities for children under 16
Among the leisure activities we are suggesting, there are plenty of options for the youngest members of the family! Let them bring out their most creative side with the “Storytelling Mascot” contest. To participate they will have to write a story that takes place in the streets of Benitachell and whose protagonist is one of the library’s mascots.
If the little ones prefer reading to writing, the library also organises a “Reading Challenge 2021“. What is the objective they will have to meet? Read a book a month and record a video of themselves talking about it. Sounds like fun, doesn’t it?
Enjoy with all these proposals for social distancing activities that we suggest for the coming weeks! Staying at home doesn’t have to be boring. And remember to keep a close eye on our blog and our Instagram and Facebook profiles so you don’t miss anything.

Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol is very well located in the northern Costa Blanca region between Valencia and Alicante, two large cities that have a lot of cultural activities, such as concerts, theatre performances and exhibitions that you can visit without having to move far from your home. For this reason, the Teulada-Moraira auditorium, less than 10 km away, invites you to discover its new program. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to reconnect with culture in this very peculiar time we are living in while respecting health regulations.
The great Concha Velasco will be unveiling this new season, beginning on March 14th, with her production La habitación de María. This is an incredible opportunity because the artist has already announced that she will not be back on the stage after this tour.
The next event will feature music. The Valencian group, La Fúmiga, who performs with wind and percussion instruments chose March 27th as their date. The following performance will be by the Emportats group on April 3rd with their La Trocola show. Suitable for all audiences, this performance awakens the senses and proposes a comic and poetic journey thanks to the perfect fusion of juggling acts with acrobatics and music.
Next, we’ll have to wait until June 5th to attend the scriptwriter, humorist and journalist Eugeni Alemany’s show. This event is a mix of humor, fun and improvisation with which you are sure to have a great evening.
Later, the Mayumana Currents Group performance had to be postponed to October 30th when we will finally be able to discover their talent. Theater, dance, music, mime, clowns and even percussion. These four men and four women offer you a unique and incredible show that can be enjoyed by both young and old.
As for Jonatan Penalba’s concert initially scheduled for January 16th, the organisation has had to postpone it and will soon announce the new date. We invite you to check the website regularly and the auditorium’s Facebook page in case there are any changes or cancellations. This is a good opportunity to let you know that the organisation offers the possibility of keeping the tickets or requesting a refund, so don’t hesitate to make your reservation to enjoy these artists.

Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol is a residential development located in an idyllic setting in the Marina Alta region, a region known for its gastronomy, its natural surroundings and its magnificent villages. So, to enjoy nature, there is nothing like a family outing in the area around your home. One of these must-do routes is the 8 villages route (Ruta dels 8 pobles). A curious name, isn’t it? Read on, and we’ll tell you everything you need to know.
This trail connects the 8 picturesque villages of the Vall de Gallinera, in the centre of the Marina Alta: Benirrama, Benialí, Benissivà, Benitaia, La Carroja, Llombai, Alpatró and Benissili. You can do this walk at any time of the year, but we recommend going in March when the cherry trees are in bloom and doing it in one or two trips. If you choose to walk the 15 km in a single day, you can return to the starting point by bus; another option we suggest before starting your route on foot is traveling to the end with two cars and leaving one parked, so that you can drive back once you have finished the walk. The bravest can go through the Serra Foradá on the way there and return through the 8 villages (more than 25 km). However, if you prefer to rest and do the route in 2 days, you can always stay in any of these picturesque villages. The most important one is Benialí, where the tourist office and the town hall of Vall de Gallinera are located.
As you may already know, this 15 km route passes through the valley, so you will find a rather flat and rocky terrain. For this reason, as for any other excursion, we can only recommend that you always wear appropriate footwear, protect yourself well, especially from the sun, and always carry a small backpack with water and a snack. The great advantage of this excursion is that you will find bars and restaurants in every village, as well as fountains and laundry rooms.
The charm of this route lies in the beauty of the valley and the history of its villages. It is an activity that brings you closer to nature and enriches you on a cultural level, as everything you come across takes you back in time. In fact, the Arab origin of these 8 villages is still present in their names. The whole family will be delighted with this adventurous experience.
If you have already done this route and are looking for more ideas, we remind you that this same valley is full of different trails, such as the Benissili castle trail. For more suggestions, don’t hesitate to visit our blog and follow us on Facebook and Instagram– go out and explore the world around you!

Gastronomy is synonymous with joy and discovery because it represents the cultural heritage of a country. The flavours of the dishes help us understand a place and invite us to explore it in a different way. This is the passion that chefs try to convey with their recipes and dishes and all of them dream of being rewarded with the highest recognition: a place in the Michelin Guide.
This year’s ceremony took place on 14th December in Madrid and many of the award-winning restaurants are located near Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol. During the 2021 edition, this coveted recognition made a stop in Alicante, where the Baeza &Rufete restaurant received its first star, following the Tula restaurant in Jávea, which had the honour of obtaining it last year. If you continue in Jávea, you can discover another restaurant with delicious dishes prepared by chef Alberto Ferruz: Bon Amb (two stars).
Then, to the north of Cumbre del Sol, less than half an hour from your home, you will find two other award-winning restaurants. Casa Pepa (one star) awaits you in a magnificent country home in Ondara surrounded by orange trees, orchards and olive groves. An extraordinary and relaxing place where you can taste the dishes that are served. You can also tour Denia and visit the shops and beaches of the town before heading to Calamar beach, where the famous Quique Dacosta restaurant with its three Michelin stars awaits you. With over 26 years of experience, you can’t miss their dishes that mix creativity and tradition.
Your culinary experience doesn’t end here because there are also many restaurants south of Cumbre del Sol, specifically in Calpe. In this town you will find three restaurants, each with a Michelin star. They are Beat, Orobianco and Audrey’s by Rafa Soler; all three use high-quality, fresh and seasonal products to offer you an explosion of flavours. Finally, El Xato restaurant, with over 100 years of history and a cuisine rich in flavours awaits you in the centre of La Nucía.
All these extraordinary establishments are less than half an hour from your home and give you the opportunity to enjoy exceptional Mediterranean cuisine, as well as discover original and authentic dishes – a real luxury for your senses! Don’t forget to follow us on our Facebook and Instagram and check our blog regularly to find out all about life on Cumbre del Sol and the VAPF developments.

When you live on the Costa Blanca, you’ll benefit from an excellent quality of life that’s exponentially greater if you’ve chosen Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol as your home base. You’ll discover a mild climate, sunny days, unspoilt coves, sea views and many services and amenities within the same residential complex so that you’re not lacking for anything. Our clients, the VAPF community, and all the people interested in our developments are very important to us. For this reason, we are always looking for ways to improve by offering superior quality services and ensuring we are always available when you need us.
At the beginning of the year, we had the pleasure of welcoming you to our new VAPF Store at the North Entrance. These offices are ideally located because they are at the entrance of Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol, between Lady Elizabeth School and Kiosko del Sol. Our team will be happy to answer all your questions, give you more information about our company and developments and guide you through the residential complex. This is an obligatory stop if you are coming to Cumbre del Sol for the first time.
Then, the global health situation pushed us to adapt to make sure we were still able to serve you best. Therefore, we decided to create the new virtual tour service so that you can view the home of your dreams without having to leave home and also benefit from exclusive offers. This was an important first step, but we wanted to do even more, so we started broadcasting webinars. Through Zoom, the VAPF team presented all our home models in your native language. You can also find them all in our gallery, so feel free to go over and have a look and contact us if you want to know more.
We have done our best to be by your side, either from a distance or in person, but we have also been able to end this odd year on a positive note. We are pleased to announce that we will soon be opening our VAPF Store at the South entrance. This new information point is located at the entrance of Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol coming from Moraira and is where our offices were located last year. We have taken the opportunity to remodel the facilities and have adapted them so that they are accessible to people with reduced mobility.
We look forward to welcoming you to our VAPF Stores to meet you and share our passion for everything the Costa Blanca has to offer. During the Christmas holidays, our office hours will be more limited, but you can fill in this form to arrange an appointment and follow us on Facebook and Instagram to keep up to date with all our news.

You can stay around Cumbre del Sol and play a game of tennis or paddle, go for a horse ride or even go hiking on one of the many trails to discover the coast or the Granadella Natural Park. If you’ve already soaked up everything that Cumbre del Sol has to offer and you want to live new adventures, you can always explore the regions of Marina Alta, Marina Baixa and l’Alacantí.
Discover the history of these three regions of the province of Alicante by visiting the most symbolic towns. You can start by conquering the tallest mountains in the region, set new challenges by practicing extreme sports or admire the beauty of nature and the sea by following the different trails that pass through some of the natural parks or along the coast. Living on the Costa Blanca gives you a unique opportunity to enjoy both the mountains and the sea.
In addition, the city of Alicante has started a new campaign to show that water sports can be done year-round. Since the end of October, Alicante’s tourism department has been organising numerous free activities that you can participate in every Friday, Saturday and Sunday on the beaches of Postiguet and San Juan until the last weekend of December. Spots are limited, so you will have to register and wait for confirmation. Finally you can try out sports such as: paddle surfing, SUP yoga, sea kayaking, surfing, bodyboarding and boot camp. On the official Alicante tourist office website you can consult the timetables, activities and registration.
As you can see, there are a lot of activities for you to enjoy alone or with your family in the region where you live, both in summer and in winter. Don’t forget to check out our blog and follow us on Facebook and Instagram so that you are always up to date about VAPF’s developments.
