The team of government representatives have started the series of neighborhood meetings to be held together with the residents of the neighborhoods making up Poble Nou de Benitachell. Until April 18, the Mayor and Town Councillors will meet residents from the 43 town neighborhoods.  In the first meeting, the Mayor, Josep Femenia, presented the Residents Council  project. This Council would be a consultative body but, above all, “a tool for all residents to take active part in the town life and to create a real bond”.

“Paisajes El Poble Nou de Benitatxell” Photography Contest

The Culture Council of Poble Nou de Benitatxell‘s Town Hall calls the I “Paisajes de El Poble Nou de Benitatxell: pasado, presente y futuro” (Poble Nou de Benitachell landscapes: past, present and future) photo contest: The contest aims to highlight the values of the landscapes in any of its spheres: nature, social aspects, culture, etc.

Participation is open to any person 18 or over, regardless of if it is an amateur or professional. Old as well as new photos are accepted.

The Council will give three prizes, for €200, €100 and €50 to the three first finalists. The jury will take into account the originality, creativity and quality of the photos.

Future Residents Council for Poble Nou de Benitatxell

About 80 people have attended 2 informative meetings to introduce them to the Future Residents Council for Poble Nou de Benitatxell. The Mayor, Josep Femenia, was in charge of explaining the willingness of the governing parties (BLOC and CCD) to create a new consultative body with residents’ representation, incorporating every neighbourhood in town.

The first meetings held on this regard on 27 and 28 February served as an introduction, where the Mayor explained the three grounds for this new body: “first, improve the communication between the town hall and the residents; second, to promote the participation of the residents in the Council and as a result, in the town hall; third and last, detecting needs of the residents and integrating them into the town life.” Likewise, Femenia declared that the council “will also be a tool to improve services, in and out of town, to better know the needs about their functioning and space for improvement.”

VI Spring Concerts Season in Benitachell

The VI Spring concerts Season adds a musical background to the weekends in Poble Nou de Benitachell and features the I Young Musicians Contest.

The VI edition of the Spring Concerts Season will make the perfect plan for anyone who plans to visit El Poble Nou de Benitatxell during March. The schedule organised by the Culture Council focuses, for another year, in promoting known regional musicians, but also looks to give space to new generations with the I  Young Musicians Contest to be held next 24 March. The concerts will be held each Saturday of March in the Santa María Magdalena church.

Next Saturday 17 March, the OMA —Marina alta Orchestra— will hold one of the most relevant concerts of the season at the church. This Orchestra, born as a reference of cultural cohesion in the region, will play works from Gounod and Mozart.

The Culture Council of Poble Nou de Benitachell opens the First Young Musicians Contest. This event aims to boost and acknowledge the daily effort made by the town’s music students to improve their abilities.

The recitals will take place next 24 March at 20:00 h, at the Santa Maria Magdalena church.

The contest is open to all young musicians living in town, who have specialised in an specific instrument, and with ages 10 to 16. The idea is to “motivate students to continue training and to acknowledge their everyday efforts to be better at their instruments; also, to allow them to participate in activities out of the academic context provided by the Music School. The shows will be held next 24 March at 20:00 h, at the Santa Maria Magdalena church.
