“Paisajes El Poble Nou de Benitatxell” Photography Contest

The Culture Council of Poble Nou de Benitatxell‘s Town Hall calls the I “Paisajes de El Poble Nou de Benitatxell: pasado, presente y futuro” (Poble Nou de Benitachell landscapes: past, present and future) photo contest: The contest aims to highlight the values of the landscapes in any of its spheres: nature, social aspects, culture, etc.

Participation is open to any person 18 or over, regardless of if it is an amateur or professional. Old as well as new photos are accepted.

The Council will give three prizes, for €200, €100 and €50 to the three first finalists. The jury will take into account the originality, creativity and quality of the photos.

Contest conditions:


–          The photos must be delivered in electronic format (CD, diskette, pen drive, DVD…) and they must relate to natural or cultural landscapes of the town, current or old.

–          There is not a maximum amount of photos per participant.

–          The photos cannot be retouched, manipulated or photomontages. Only basic light, contrast, saturation, sharpness or white balance adjustments will be accepted. In case of doubt, the town hall reserves the right to demand the original file or RAW.

–          Photos must be unpublished and not winners of any other contest. Any photos can be entered on competition by the authors. Any photos presented by any other person rather than the author will not be accepted.

–          Admission ends on 30 March 2012. The works must be presented at the entrance registry of Poble Nou de Benitatxell Town Hall from 09:00 h to 14:00 h, Mondays through Fridays. Other data to be registered is the curriculum of the author or contact information, brand and model of the camera, date of photo, etc.

–          The participation in the contest implies the acceptation of the conditions, which includes the addition of the photos into the photo archive of the Poble Nou de Benitatxell Town Hall. The winners and finalists of the contest will grant the rights of reproduction, use and exhibition of their photos to the Town Hall, as long as the author is named and the use has cultural purposes. The Town Hall assumes that any person shown in the photos authorises his/her appearance. The author is sole responsible for any issues related to intimacy and privacy rights.

–          All contestants accept that their work will be shared in social media (web, Facebook, Twitter, etc).

–          The jury will include regional and local experts in the photography field. The jury is free to seek advice from any specialists they consider appropriate. The Jury will reward quality, originality and creativity. The prize can be void. The decision of the jury is unappealable.

–          The jury will dismiss only photos of really bad quality or with offensive content for the people appearing in the photo.

–          Finalists or winners will be informed telephonically or by e-mail, after the jury draw up the verdict. One person can receive more than one prize.

–          Registering and taking part in the contest implies full acceptation of all the conditions.
