This year several municipalities of the Costa Blanca have been working to raise awareness of the “RiuRaus” buildings. These constructions are closely tied to the raing culture of the landscape of the Marina region. The Valencian Riuraus are emblematic and unique worldwide, and from eighteenth to early twentieth centuries were used to convert the Muscat grape in raisins.

Benitachell is one of the municipalities that are working to recover and publicize this traditional construction through the creation of cultural walking routes to places such as the “Riurau of Torra” a private property currently under rehabilitation.  Today, we would like to share with you the activities organised by the towns comprising the Vall del Pop region, Benissa and Teulada-Moraira, in the frame of a program of active holidays called “Déjate Llevar 2013” (let yourself go 2013). This time, the program features tours to get to know the area and its surroundings better.

“Teulada, nuestra tierra, nuestra historia” (Teulada, our land and history) Guided Tour will be held on Saturday 9 November, and the Family Workshop: Teulada and the grape will take place on Sunday 10.

Today we would like to bring you some information about “Moraig Fault route”: one of the most interesting outdoors leisure option around Cumbre del Sol (Poble Nou de Benitachell). This stunning trail runs parallel to Moraig Cove, passes through Cova dels Arcs and gets all the way to the sea.

 

Down the road that leads to the Moraig Cove (about 150 m. before reaching gettong there) you can find the path that leads to a wooden railing at your right hand, located on the edge of an abyss, from which you can observe a fault surface. Today we bring you some information about young people activities organized by the towns of Calpe, Benissa, Teulada-Moraira, Poble Nou de Benitachell, Javea and Denia.

Climbing Initiation on 9 February in Jávea at the path to the Hermitage of Santa Llucia. The activity is scheduled to last 4 hours and is considered of medium difficulty. The Xábia Yacht Club along with the local Department of Sports and the collaboration of Xàbia City Council are organizing the 3rd Jávea  Swimming Crossing. The event will take place on Sunday 16 September in two different courses: a 4500 meters long that will kick off at 08:30 h. from the Caleta beach and a 400-meter long starting at Grava Beach at 10:30 h.

The B Course  (4500 meters) will follow the route from Caleta Beach to Xàbia Port across Jávea Bay along the swimming area. Swimmers doing the race out of the demarcated area will be disqualified and removed from the water.
