Last Sunday 15 June began the bathing season on Moraig beach, which this year was awarded with a special Lifesaving Service distinction, which makes it one of the three best beaches in the Spanish coast according to ADEAC agency, the same office in charge of the Blue Flag, also awarded to Moraig.
Surveillance, first aid and nursing for swimmers will be offered in daily basis from 10:00 to 18:00 hours. The town council hired the company SVS for the management of municipal service due to the positive assessment of the service during the past two years. (more…)

The Department of Environment of the City of Poble Nou de Benitachell is organing a cleaning Moraig Cover for next Saturday 22 June. This maintenance activity -which includes submarine and overland works open to all locals and visitors-, is aimed to raise awareness about environmental issues and its impact in the Mediterranean coast. Moraig Beach
Benitachell city council just confirmed the starting of the works for the construction of 70 parking spaces in the vicinity of Cala Moraig. Benitachell’s Mayor Josep Femenia, together with technicians involved in the project, visited the area where the works will be carried out and stated that the parking will be completed before the start of the summer tourist season. The works will be executed by municipal services in collaboration with Grupo VAPF building company. (more…)

Josep Femenia -Mayor of Poble Nou de Benitachell– and Rosa de los Rios –Head of Coasts Affairs Bureau- visited the access area of Moraig Creek (close to the southern entrance to the Cumbre del Sol) where City Council has proposed enabling a platform for the creation of 60 parking spaces and the improvement works of the area that would allow up to 130 parking places by the creek.
The mayor explained the need to manage traffic in the area (which in the summer months has a very intense activity) that, according to municipal data, reaches a daily average of 300 cars. Facing this situation, the City Council has proposed the creation of a parking space in an attempt to alleviate the area as far as possible.

Moraig Beach
Today we want to share some information coming from the city of Benitachell regarding the possible upcoming beachside improvements of access and facilities.
There is a new project of the Council of Poble Nou de Benitachell proposed to the Alicante Provincial Government’s Coasts and Beaches Administration about creating 130 parking spaces at Moraig cove surrounding area. This project has been proposed due to the lack of parking places close to the cove and consequently difficulty for the beachgoers to get to this area.
