Moraig Beach
The Department of Environment of the City of Poble Nou de Benitachell is organing a cleaning Moraig Cover for next Saturday 22 June. This maintenance activity -which includes submarine and overland works open to all locals and visitors-, is aimed to raise awareness about environmental issues and its impact in the Mediterranean coast.
Volunteers should attend at 10:00 h. at the Cove access for a briefing before the activity. The Department of Environment will give a small gift to all the participants.
In order to properly clean the beach and safely reach all the critical parts of the Cove, the cleaning activity will be assisted by Frog Diving Club in the underwater inspection and cleaning.
The Department of Environment noted that ADEAC Environmental Foundation awarded this year for the first time the Blue Flag to Moraig Creek, and as a requirement for the keeping this award, the town has to streamline various activities related to the environment and natural issues in the cove. In this sense, citizen participation becomes a key factor to obtain –and hopefully maintain- the award.
