Christmas Meals and Local Products

Christmas Meals and Local Products

The Costa Blanca is a place with so much to offer: history, culture, natural landscapes, and a varied cuisine. You can buy fresh local products with a superior quality to prepare delicious dishes or eat in the best restaurants, some with Michelin stars. As the days go by, Christmas and New Year’s Day are getting closer and you might still have some questions in mind, such as what menu to prepare or where to book. We hope that this article can be of help to you!

Seafood is a must, and you are in luck, because the town of Denia is well known for its fish and seafood sold at the fish market, but above all for its red prawns, a real Mediterranean luxury. If you decide to prepare them, it’s better to use sea water to boil them and to do it for a couple of minutes at 80º maximum so that their juice remains intact. Or, if you prefer to let a professional chef surprise you, then we recommend the Quique Dacosta restaurant and its menu dedicated to this delicacy.

For the main course, you can choose a simple yet traditional recipe, such as paella, or opt for a lamb-based recipe. It will be a real treat for you, but if you want to be sure that your guests will be amazed, you can make a reservation at the La Cumbre restaurant. This establishment has prepared a menu for the occasion and invites you to discover its regional dishes with a touch of tradition and originality. You will have a great time while marvelling at the stunning sea views. The Acantilados restaurant, which opened its doors during the summer, is another charming place at Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol where you will enjoy a delicious lunch or dinner.

Once we’ve finished, it’s time for dessert and as you probably know, there are lots of almond trees in the area. It is the perfect occasion to discover local products full of flavour: chocolates, nougats that are both hard (from Xixona) or soft (from Alicante), marzipan and polvorones. You can also surprise your guests by cooking very local recipes such as sweet potato cake, buñuelos (fritters or round doughnuts) or caspell.

We’re still missing a small but important detail to make this feast complete: an exquisite Marina Alta wine. The Christmas holidays are the perfect occasion to go all out and show off, so don’t hesitate to propose a local menu, authentic and full of flavours. To learn more about the region and the surprises it has in store for you, we invite you to check our blog regularly and follow us on Facebook and Instagram. Cumbre del Sol: Facilities and Amenities

Cumbre del Sol: Facilities and Amenities

Life at Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol is very relaxed and you’ll have everything you need very close to home. Ideally located in the northern Costa Blanca, between Valencia and Alicante, you’ll find dreamy villas and apartments at this residential complex to turn your Spanish dreams into a reality.  If you are lucky enough to be the owner of one of these homes, you already know that at Cumbre del Sol, you’re not lacking any service or amenity, such as fiber optics, so you’re always connected. Moreover, you can enjoy exceptional surroundings, with ample opportunity to explore the natural wonders all around you.

We know that one of the most important things to consider is your children. The little ones will have the opportunity to study at Lady Elizabeth School, recognized as one of the best schools in the country. The school’s facilities aren’t lacking, as it has an indoor swimming pool, a soccer field, spacious and bright classrooms and interactive whiteboards. In addition, residents can benefit from the agreement that VAPF signed with the school in September 2019. For all these reasons, it is a unique place for the development and education of your children.

Education is very important, but leisure is as well. That’s why you can find various sports facilities at Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol. Slip on your comfortable walking shoes and discover the paths that run very close to your home; grab your racket and some balls to play a game of tennis or paddle on the resort’s courts or, if you prefer, you can also stop by the equestrian centre to sign up for riding lessons or go for a ride on horseback.

All these activities will likely whet your appetite and therefore you’ll find several restaurants nearby, some with Michelin stars, both near and within Cumbre del Sol. Cañada del Sol and Como en Casa are ideal for a quick drink after a game; Kiosko del Sol, on the northern entrance of Cumbre del Sol, right next to our offices, is perfect for breakfast or ordering lunch to take with you to work. If you continue on this road, you’ll arrive at the Adelfas shopping centre, where you’ll find the Acantilados bar-restaurant and La Cumbre restaurant. Acantilados opened this summer and has wonderful views of the sea; La Cumbre has been open for several years now and is ideal for enjoying typical Mediterranean dishes, such as different types of rice, with the whole family. Finally, you can also enjoy a mini-vacation without leaving Cumbre del Sol at DreamSeaMediterranean glamping and sign up for some of the sports activities they offer.

We’ve thought of everything our residents might need in their day-to-day life, so they don’t have to leave Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol unless it is absolutely necessary. Do you need to entertain last minute guests? No problem, you can book a table or order takeaway from one of the establishments we have already mentioned or pick something up at Pepe La Sal supermarket, located in the Adelfas shopping centre. Belgian National Day in Cumbre del Sol

Belgian National Day in Cumbre del Sol

Since the first Belgian King, Leopold I, swore allegiance to the Constitution on the 21st July 1831, Belgium has celebrated its national holiday on this date. For the second year in a row, here at VAPF we have celebrated this special occasion in the La Cumbre Restaurant with all our neighbours in the Cumbre del Sol Residential Resort.

This year, close to 200 people, among them many Belgian nationals who live in the area, came together in the magnificent location that is the La Cumbre Restaurant to enjoy a magical evening. The views of the sea and sunset helped to make this celebration of Belgian National Day a truly unforgettable experience.

To continue the celebrations, there was a prize draw. The Pepe la Sal supermarket contributed a pack of wines, Chiringuito Cala Moraig and the La Cumbre Restaurant offered a lunch or dinner for two, and Casa Vicente gave away a discount. There were also a lucky few who were given an invitation for the Belgian National Day celebrations in 2019 in Cumbre del Sol, and those who will be able to enjoy a lesson with David Ferrer or received his racket.

The attendees at this event enjoyed a menu which included a cocktail on the terrace along with delights such as smoked salmon mousse, breaded camembert with tomato jam, and breaded prawns with Pedro Ximénez sauce, among other delicious choices.

After the cocktails came the main dishes. A salmon tartare marinated with apple and avocado followed by beef entrecote with Spanish sauce, roast potatoes, and vegetables. Lastly, a Sachertorte with vanilla ice cream brought the meal to an end.

The party after the dinner was the perfect end to an evening of emotion and gifts. The music and a lively photocall, in which participants were able to enjoy some entertaining moments, ensured that everyone went home with a smile on their face, looking forward to celebrating again next year.
