The Costa Blanca is a place with so much to offer: history, culture, natural landscapes, and a varied cuisine. You can buy fresh local products with a superior quality to prepare delicious dishes or eat in the best restaurants, some with Michelin stars. As the days go by, Christmas and New Year’s Day are getting closer and you might still have some questions in mind, such as what menu to prepare or where to book. We hope that this article can be of help to you!

Seafood is a must, and you are in luck, because the town of Denia is well known for its fish and seafood sold at the fish market, but above all for its red prawns, a real Mediterranean luxury. If you decide to prepare them, it’s better to use sea water to boil them and to do it for a couple of minutes at 80º maximum so that their juice remains intact. Or, if you prefer to let a professional chef surprise you, then we recommend the Quique Dacosta restaurant and its menu dedicated to this delicacy.

For the main course, you can choose a simple yet traditional recipe, such as paella, or opt for a lamb-based recipe. It will be a real treat for you, but if you want to be sure that your guests will be amazed, you can make a reservation at the La Cumbre restaurant. This establishment has prepared a menu for the occasion and invites you to discover its regional dishes with a touch of tradition and originality. You will have a great time while marvelling at the stunning sea views. The Acantilados restaurant, which opened its doors during the summer, is another charming place at Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol where you will enjoy a delicious lunch or dinner.

Once we’ve finished, it’s time for dessert and as you probably know, there are lots of almond trees in the area. It is the perfect occasion to discover local products full of flavour: chocolates, nougats that are both hard (from Xixona) or soft (from Alicante), marzipan and polvorones. You can also surprise your guests by cooking very local recipes such as sweet potato cake, buñuelos (fritters or round doughnuts) or caspell.

We’re still missing a small but important detail to make this feast complete: an exquisite Marina Alta wine. The Christmas holidays are the perfect occasion to go all out and show off, so don’t hesitate to propose a local menu, authentic and full of flavours.
