It’s the most wonderful time of the year. The Christmas spirit is in full swing, and that magical atmosphere is creeping into every corner of Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol. And as we wouldn’t have it any other way, la Costa Blanca offers many Christmas activities. We’ll tell you about them all in this blog post.
Concerts
We can’t say it’s Christmas until we’ve heard carols or Mariah Carey. Music is very important for this time of year, and the province of Alicante has excellent options to put you in that Christmassy mood.
In Alicante, Wednesday 22 December, the Banda Sinfónica Municipal will hold their Christmas Concert in the Auditorio de Música de Alicante at 8pm.
Activities
Poble Nou de Benitatxell
In Poble Nou de Benitatxell, in the heart of la Costa Blanca, a very exciting Christmas is coming. On Christmas eve, Santa Claus and his elves will be visiting the town to greet all the neighbours and put on a big parade.
The week after, Monday 27, magic will be all around Poble Nou de Benitatxell coming from the Magician Dalux and his “Magic Christmas” show. The day after, the children will have a blast! The town has organised a Christmas fair with bouncy castles, face painting, and other games. And before the year ends, you can also enjoy some Christmas carols, theatre plays and other plans that you can see here. Without forgetting, of course, the Ringing of the Bells for kids at midday on the 31st! A must-go!
And we also can’t forget about the Three Wise Men parade on 5 January, where the royal Wise Men from the east will be making their way through the town, waving to the locals.
Jávea
There will also be a midday Ringing of the Bell for kids in Jávea to ring in the new year, and they have an extensive programme of activities for Christmas. From 24 December to 5 January, there will be a games library, workshops, artisanal products and different activities.
Moreover, Jávea is going sporty for this festive time of year. In the programme Nadal Jove y Esportiu, different sports clubs are offering demonstrations and children’s workshops. But also, the Grinch will make an appearance in an escape room and you can visit his house at Palau d’Esports.
Teulada-Moraira
Christmas is also very important in Teulada-Moraira. The esplanade of the castle will be turned into an ice rink during this time. Have you ever skated on ice? Now’s your chance!
Furthermore, just like other towns in la Costa Blanca, the 5 January is a key date in the calendar. The Wise Men will come on floats just before the big day. An ideal time to see them up close and ask for last minute gifts.
Nadal a l’Arniches
The teatro Arniches has prepared a programme with big shows for 26 to 29 December. On Tuesday, 28 December, the show ‘Protocolo Polo’ will take place, a story about caring for the environment and personal growth. On Wednesday, 29 December, the show ‘La Gata Japonesa’ (the Japanese Cat) will be on. Another unmissable show!

The Christmas Bus
In the city of Alicante, this year, the Christmas bus is back, free of charge. You can hop on from 23 December until 6 January, from 9:00 to 22:30. If you’re wondering where the bus will stop, it won’t disappoint: from la Rambla to the Portal de Elche, going to Plaza de España (Panteón de Quijano), Plaza de Luceros, Reyes Católicos and the avenues of doctor Gadea and Frederico Soto.

Never let distance keep you apart! Whether it’s visiting a loved one, or even recreating your own Oktoberfest, go for one of our homes in Costa Blanca. Sure, Munich is very far, and the atmosphere is completely different, but there are many Germans that have chosen to live in Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol, so if you’re from Germany, you won’t be alone!
This 2021, the very best Oktoberfest in the province of Alicante made a comeback: the one in Calpe. A festival “a la Valencia” with a hint of Germany was held over the long weekend in October, boasting live orchestras, charangas (brass bands), local delicacies, and, most important of all, beer.
If you happened to miss out on these festivities or simply want to continue the party, don’t worry. In Spain, we love parties and we’re sure our European counterparts do too! So, why not host your own Oktoberfest that will make you feel right at home? Here are a few tips!
As we already said, in Cumbre del Sol we love having clients from Germany, and we want to do our best so that they can live as comfortably as possible in Costa Blanca. The saying “there’s no place like home” is certainly true, but in this case, residents from Germany will feel right at home in Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol. And what is it that makes us feel most at home? You guessed it, it’s food.
Food and drink are especially needed when talking about the best German festival out there! In a multicultural residential complex with neighbours from all over Europe, a supermarket cannot go without imported products. Supermarkets such as Pepe la Sal, which stock imported products, not only have a store in Benitaxell, but also in other nearby places like Moraira-Teulada or Benissa.
Beer, a non-negotiable part of your Oktoberfest
The queen of Oktoberfest is, of course, beer. It is the centrepiece of the party. So, if you decide to host your own Oktoberfest, this golden liquid has to be there. How about organising a beer tasting session? But watch out! Make sure your beers are German. You won’t have problems finding any, as we said before, Pepe la Sal has many imported products that will make each resident of Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol at home.
The debate on beers is always frothing. Luckily, in this supermarket, you have a wide variety to choose from! In Spain and in the rest of the world, Paulaner is the best brand to celebrate Oktoberfest. It was the beer that turned this regional festival into a global one. But we understand that if you’re German, you’ll probably want a larger selection of beers to do your own tasting session at home for your Oktoberfest. Along with Paulaner, you can also get these beers: Bitburger, Erdinger, Emdbrau and Franziskaner. A paradise for our German neighbours!
This Oktoberfest, travel to Germany through food
Even though the star of the show is beer, it simply has to be accompanied with a good meal. A good meal that makes you feel like you’re in the streets of Munich on such an important day for Germans. Sausages and cheese have to be on the table, and if not, it wouldn’t be an Oktoberfest. Munster Fermier, Edam, Bavaria Blu and Tilsiter are some cheeses available to buy in Pepe la Sal so that your Oktoberfest at home can be just as good as the real thing. As for sausages, a symbol of Germany, you will also find many different kinds on offer to choose from in this supermarket.
But beyond the raw ingredients, here are some recipes that you can easily recreate at home. Bretzels, Kartoffelsalat and Frikadellen will be a hit with the guests at your party. Your playlist for that day will, of course, singers and bands from Germany. This will certainly be nostalgic music for German guests, but for others it will be a way to get to know new music and learn about German folklore.
All that’s left is decoration! It’s one of the most important steps, so don’t skip it. Bavarian flags, big beer mugs, and even regional dress – no detail is too small! Who said Wednesdays were boring? Every Wednesday has its charms but especially now in summer, they’re the best. And here’s why!
At Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol we are fortunate in being surrounded by nature, the sea and some incredible towns and villages. Towns blessed with history, culture and traditions, and of course, great cuisine. A cuisine which at Marina Alta, stands out with its spectacular vineyards, renowned for their quantity, quality and beauty.
At VAPF we have always supported cultural events in the vicinity of Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol. And your stay there can be full of variety with some wide ranging activities. With that in mind, this summer we present Melicatesen. We are sponsoring this event, to be held every Wednesday throughout July and August, and its basic premise is simply, wine and music. Sounds good, right?
As well as helping to promote the vineyards and wineries in the area and supporting oenology and wine production, clients will also be able to enjoy a pleasant evening of musical entertainment. The scenario varies from week to week as do the musicians. Here is some more information about these Wednesday events which could well become a top date in your weekday schedule.
This month, Melicatesen continues its route and so, on 4 August this week, we’ll be making a detour to the M de Alejandría winery. The guided visit in Teulada can be followed in Spanish, English and French. This winery grows the Muscat of Alexandria grape which is from Africa. And the fact is there is no better place than the Mediterranean for cultivating that characteristic sweet fruity taste.
Following the visit, and during the ensuing tapas and wine tasting, the the strings of classical guitar will provide the soundtrack for a truly memorable evening. Carlos Gardel tangos, or music by composers such as Francisco Tárrega, Fernando Sor, Falla and Albéniz are just some of the melodies in the repertoire of classical guitarist Miquel Pérez Perelló.

One of the main events of the year at Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol is just around the corner! The padel tournament, organized by North Costa Blanca Paddle Club Cumbre del Sol and sponsored by VAPF, is here for the third consecutive year and we couldn’t be more excited.
This tournament will be held between the 1st and 4th of July, coinciding with Wimbledon 2021. We hope not to overshadow it! This kind of activity give life to Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol and encourages social interaction among our neighbors, many of them are already almost professionals at padel tennis! In addition, the facilities are perfect to carry out an event of this type, as there are currently five padel courts.
Before you sign up for this great event, we want to tell you more about it. One of the most important things to note are the categories that will be available for the tournament, since the level and demand of the game will depend on it. For men’s teams, as well as for women’s teams, you can only play in Category 1. However, for mixed teams, there is more variety: Categories 1, 2 and 3. Have you decided which one you’ll be playing in?
If you want to try your luck in the tournament organized by North Costa Blanca Padel Club Cumbre del Sol, or just have a good time, we will tell you how to sign up! The registration fee is €15 per person and category. To be counted as a participant, you must call Gary (634351671) or Lynne (675156471), two of the organizers, and confirm your details and registration.
We wanted to leave the motivational part for the end, although we hope that the prize is not the only thing that moves you to sign up. This tournament is comprehensive and also has a cash prize for those who win. In this case, the winning couple will receive €150 and the finalist couple, €50. Not bad at all!
If you enjoy this sport, you will be happy to know that another tournament will be organized by North Costa Blanca Padel Club Cumbre del Sol in August, and it will take place at Cumbre del Sol too. So, you won’t have to leave our stunning location to keep enjoying this great sport! This new padel competition will be held from 5th to 8th of August. The categories will be men’s teams (1, 2, 3), women’s teams (2), and mixed teams (1a, 1b). In addition, VAPF will give a prize to winners.
If you would rather watch a match than play – for the excitement of wondering who will win – you are more than welcome too! All matches are held in a safe environment because we make sure that all protocols against COVID-19 are in place. And if the weather is too hot for you, you can relax and enjoy a cool drink at the bar Como en casa. At Cumbre del Sol there is always something fun to do!

The good weather is here, and you can sense it all over! Both for the extra degrees and because some Covid-19 restrictions have been relaxed. This means that there will be more options for leisure activities for the coming weeks and months in our surroundings.
At Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol an event begins this weekend that we are especially excited about. This Saturday, May 15th, the S.P.D. Cumbre del Sol tennis school will be inaugurated! Although, for security reasons, the opening ceremony will be held online. The good news is that during the next week the courts will be open for you to test them out for free.
We have worked for a long time to design and create four unique tennis courts in our complex. And most importantly, at the school, each court will overlook the Mediterranean. Undoubtedly, it’s a unique space where you can practice this sport! In addition, while learning tennis you will have a team of professionals by your side who stand out for their enthusiasm and optimism. Bring out the player in you! The whole team is waiting for you this Saturday on their Facebook page where they will do a Live at 10h (UTC+2). And all next week on the courts. As we want to make it comfortable for you to come and play on the courts, you don’t need to bring any equipment. The facilities are fully equipped and at your disposal.
And we have more good news! During the month of May, we also have cultural activities for you. The glamping Dreamsea Mediterranean Camp, at Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol, organizes a live concert every Saturday. And it does so by joining one of the trends that has spread the most in the last year: afternoon meet-ups. These events will start at 17:00 p.m., so you can accompany them with tapas, a snack or even a drink. You decide!
The line-up? On Saturday, the 15th, The Rhythm Syncopators will take the stage. On the 22nd, rock comes to Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol with Pau Monteagudo. He has been on the scene since the 90’s with his band Uzzhuaia. Currently he continues to stand out in the music scene with his new band, Corazones Eléctricos.
And to send off May and welcome the summer month of June, the guest on May 29th will be Dj Ferro. This Portuguese artist will bring a fresh style to Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol. The first one, from the 1st to the 4th of July, will have one category for men and one for women, as well as three mixed categories and is fully sponsored by VAPF. The next competition will be in August –between the 5th and the 8th– and in this case there will be three categories for men and three for women, and only one mixed category. Are you interested?
