In fact, if we are talking precisely about going for a refreshing swim, a great option is to explore the inland areas in the province of Alicante and enjoy the fresh water! In addition, the ideal location of Cumbre del Sol Residential Resort offers you a wide range of options within an hour’s drive – keep reading and don’t miss any of our recommendations!
Less than an hour from Cumbre del Sol
A few minutes from Sella, a town very close to Benitatxell, we find the recreational area Font Major. In addition to being a campesite, it also has a small swimming area with a natural pool surrounded by trees that offer abundant shade and tables to spend the day with family and friends.
Meanwhile, closer to Cumbre del Sol Residential Resort, you’ll find Callosa d’en Sarriá. Here there are two other good options to go swimming: the Estret de les Penyes or the famous Fuentes del Algar. The first option is a spectacular place to take a little break given its location and crystal waters. The waterfall not only attracts swimmers, you’ll also likely see people canyoning on weekends.
Las Fuentes del Algar, Callosa D’en Sarriá’s second inland natural pool, is a popular spot in the province of Alicante. It is one of the few places where you have to pay, but it also has special facilities: toilets, lifeguard and parking.

Planes – Barranco de la Encantada
Close to Planes you will find Benilloba, where the Molí del Salt offers us another chance to cool off in the Comtat region. A small waterfall runs over into a natural swimming pool, one of the most remote in the whole province of Alicante. It is also a place with a lot of history: the name for Molí del Salt comes from a flour mill dating back to 1760, in which only a few leftover ruins can be seen.
Although the Comtat region is one of the furthest from Cumbre del Sol in this province, the Barranco de la Encantada is one of the most worthwhile visits. Throughout the ravine, there are many pools in which you can stop to enjoy a swim: Toll Blau, Toll Estret or the Gorg del Salt waterfall. Don’t miss out on exploring and discovering the Barranco de la Encantada, with its 8 kilometres of pure and untouched nature.
Close to Planes you will find Benilloba, where its Molí del Salt offers us another chance to swim in Comtat. There is also a zipline, a Tibetan style bridge and abseiling services. The Benilloba local government has set up a picnic area next to the car park, making Molí del Salt a great option for spending the entire day.
Since we are already talking about in the province of Valencia, the Pou Clar in Onteniente is another of the natural inland swimming areas we can enjoy. In fact, the Pou Clar is only one of the 6 pools that we find one after the other at the source of the Clariano river: Pou Clar, Pou dels Esclaus, Pou Gelat, Pou de laReixa, Pou Fosc and Pou dels Cavallas.
With various options within the province and close to Cumbre del Sol Residential Resort, you’ll be able to combine the beaches and coves of the Costa Blanca with the cold waters of the natural pools perfectly.

VAPF has organised various events to make sure this a unique and unforgettable summer at Cumbre del Sol Residential Resort. We want to do our part to assure that our neighbours have their best summer yet. If you’re reading this, you’re invited to participate in all of the events we’ll be discussing below, as they’ve been created for your enjoyment and fun! Let’s go!
If you are interested in finding out more about our properties at Cumbre del Sol Residential Resort, we’ll make it easy for you! All you have to do is come out and visit us for our Open House at villa 29 Lirios, during the afternoons from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. We will be here until August 31st! And if you prefer to visit us at a different time, we can assist you in the South Office from 9:00 to 2:00 pm and in the North Office from 9:00 to 2:00 pm and from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Feel free to stop by at the time that best suits you, there are no excuses not to come see us!
On the other hand, for all those who want to find out about VAPF developments and new homes beyond Cumbre del Sol Residential Resort, we have a special plan for you! Every Thursday in July and August, (with the exception of August 15th, as it is a public holiday) we welcome you to our VAPF Store in Moraira from 6:30 to 8:00 pm for our Cava Afternoons event. In addition, one of the big events that will take place during this month is the traditional Belgian National Day celebration on July 21st. Every year, we celebrate this event as it commemorates the day that Belgium became an independent state. We’ll celebrate with our neighbours from Cumbre del Sol Residential Resort, as there is a large community of Belgians living in the area. The party will take place in La Cumbre restaurant and it will be an enchanting evening accompanied by a special menu, live music and a great time.
Our Classic Car Rally will also take place on August 24th. This event brings together classic cars lovers in the area. If you are one of them, you can’t miss it! This is one of the most important events of the summer at Cumbre del Sol Residential Resort and is celebrating its third edition this year.
As you probably already know, this year the Vuelta a España returns to our neighbourhood! Specifically, it will be passing through on August 25th. Cyclists are drawn to this little piece of the Costa Blanca for its incredible views and also for a route that runs through el Puig Llorença.
Our most sporty residents also have a date with us in their calendar! During the summer we will have up to two paddle tennis tournaments: the first will take place from July 30th to August 1st and the second from August 20th to the 22nd. If you’re interested in participating, check our social networks and we’ll have more information out soon!
If you want to enter into a peaceful state of mind this summer, we invite you to our yoga sessions in two different locations nearby: Every Tuesday at 7:00 pm, from July 16th to August 27th, there will be a yoga session in the magical location of Cala Moraig. The early risers will be able to participate at 9:00 am at Mirador dels Testos in Benitachell from July 18th to August 22nd, with the exception of August 15th, which is a public holiday.
As a resident and neighbour, you are invited to all the events that take place at Cumbre del Sol Residential Resort. It gives us great satisfaction to unite people of different nationalities and be an active participant in this community, because our little piece of paradise on the Costa Blanca is what it is thanks to all those residents and neighbours who form a part of it!

The residents at Cumbre del Sol Residential Resort are in luck because….fibre optics has arrived to the area! The telecommunications company, IBÉRICA DE REDES, has decided to invest in the installation of a fibre optics network at Cumbre del Sol, so as to offer high speed internet service to homeowners in the urbanisation. They have already begun installation in some homes and the first owners will very soon be able to enjoy their new service!
To celebrate, the company has organized a Fibre Optics Welcome Party on Saturday, July 6th from 5:00 to 9:00 pm, an event in which all Cumbre del Sol residents are invited to attend. The event will take place in the IRIS area (at the North Entrance, next to Lady Elizabeth School and the Civil Protection and Voluntary Firefighter facilities.) A good time will be had by all! There will be music and free beer for all those who attend, so don’t miss it!

The Costa Blanca has stunning beaches and coves, making it a real paradise. But there’s even more to this region than its incredible nature and beauty. It also has a great cultural and culinary offering. If you live in Cumbre del Sol Residential Resort you will be able to not only enjoy the incredible ocean views and the natural surroundings with emblematic landmarks such as Cala del Moraig or Granadella Natural Park, but there’s also a wide selection of bars and restaurants where you can taste the rich cuisine of the region. At the north entrance 1 of Cumbre del Sol you will find the Kiosko del Sol, real experts in serving breakfast! Every day you can buy freshly baked bread there and they also have a wide selection of coffee, drinks, sandwiches and delicious German specialties. Their breakfasts are healthy and balanced, making them very suitable for children and there’s exclusive service for people who are in a hurry. If you’re in a rush, simply save time and place your order online. You can make a quick stop to pick it up at the store without having to queue up.
At Adelfas, Cumbre del Sol’s own mall, there’s a restaurant called Vista Ibiza. There you’ll find a wide selection of dishes like salads, pastas, meats, hamburgers or fish. Vista Ibiza is the perfect place for a delicious appetizer or dinner with ocean views and they also serve a good brunch!
In restaurant La Cumbre, also located in Cumbre del Sol, you can enjoy specialty paella and several other rice casserole dishes. They use local products, based on Mediterranean gastronomy. The restaurant also hosts a wide variety of events, for example weddings, baptisms and first communions. In fact, this year we celebrated the traditional Saint John’s Eve in this restaurant and it was a great success.
If you’d prefer spending the day at the beach, don’t forget to visit Cala Moraig’s own beach bar: Vive Bonito. They have a great variety of dishes, drinks and cocktails, that you can enjoy in good company and with the soft Mediterranean breeze blowing in the background.
The horseback riding school Cañada del Sol offers the possibility of horseback riding with guided tours or horseback riding classes (for children and adults) and it has a bar-restaurant called Cañada del Sol with a big terrace. Here you can enjoy lunch and try several different dishes, such as rice, tapas, sandwiches, etc. The perfect combination for a nice relaxing break!
Beside the tennis and paddle courts, there’s also a restaurant called Como en casa, a perfect place to recharge your batteries after a match! Here you can choose between several daily menus, meat and fish dishes, homemade pizzas, rice dishes and their specialty: mussels. Soon, there will be home delivery so the residents can enjoy without leaving their homes!

We’ve spoken on more than one occasion about the recognition that Cumbre del Sol has received as an ideal location for cycling fans. However, the proof can be seen with prestigious competitions such as the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana or the Tour of Spain, which frequently include Alto de Puig Llorença as part of their routes. Therefore, for the occasion of World Bicycle Day, we would like to suggest a number of routes near Cumbre del Sol Residential Resort, depending on the type of bike you use, so you can enjoy your favourite sport. Let’s ride!
If you have a mountain bike, an interesting option is the route through the Sierra de Oltá, in Calpe. The double lap to get to the Sierra is one of the most intense options for any cycling lover, thanks to its 20 km and approximately 600 meters of altitude. The mountain location offers incredible views and we’re sure this route will soon become one of your favourites.
The Sierra de Aitana, where the highest point of the Alicante province is located, is where we find the second mountain biking route. Here, we are talking about a route of almost 40 km, and an accumulated incline of over 1200 meters and with paths through the Alto de Tagarina and the Paso del Contador. All the details of the route can be found on the Costa Blanca website.
One of the routes that we can find without leaving Cumbre del Sol is the Puig Llorença circular route, of 10 kilometres. But don’t be fooled by its shorter route, the difficulty in making it to the top of the mountain will truly put your resistance to the test. In addition to contemplating the views from the lookout at the top, the route passes through Oratorio Jaume Llobell and to the Poble lookout. In Benitatxell, we can find another route that allows us to discover rural parts of the municipality and that pass by points of interest such as the town hall, the Santa María de Magdalena church, the vineyards and the recreational area of I’Abiar. All of this in 10 km and you can find more information about it on this page.
On the other hand, if you prefer road biking, we recommend that you travel to Benitatxell to do a circular 93 km route. It will take you through the Jávea and Dénia coastal municipalities, and then later move inland towards towns such as Ondara, and Sagra. Once you have passed those markers, you’ve made it to the first main challenging point, the Coll de la Garga. After surmounting the summit and completing the descent, you can visit the cities of Benigembla, Jalón and Benissa before returning to Benitatxell. Here you can find more information.
As you know, there are many cyclists (both professionals and amateurs) who visit the province of Alicante to train at any time of the year. One of those characteristic routes that we propose begins in Calpe, climbs la Fustera, continues towards Teulada and then turns towards Cala de la Granadella and Cabo de la Nao. Finally, the tour ends along the coast to Jávea and then runs back to Cumbre del Sol. Although this route does not exceed 70 kilometres, its layout makes it so that it exceeds 1000 metres of incline easily.
If you’d looking for a route that’s been done by professionals, why not try their same route? Specifically, you can pedal the 185 km route that the cyclists did in 2016 between Benidorm and the Port de Tudons.
It is a very difficult and intense route, so you must be at an optimal fitness level. The departure from Benidorm leads us to well-known mountain passes such as Coll de Rates or Alto de Vall de Ebo. We continue towards Alto de Tollos and inland towns such as Muro de Alcoy, Cocentaina and Alcoy. After this, we will start our first ascent to the Port de Tudons, descend to Relleu and, at this point, we can choose to go up Tudons again or finish off the route.

For outdoor sports lovers, one of the great advantages of living on the Costa Blanca is the warm Mediterranean climate and the abundant hours of sunshine. Living at the Cumbre del Sol Residential Resort is a paradise for those who value having many sport options close to home. If sport is your thing, we’re here to tell you about all the possibilities!
If you love biking, Cumbre del Sol Residential Resort is your place! Cycling fans likely already know this region, as it has formed part of the Tour of Spain on several occasions. You can make use of the various cycling trails available close to the development, as well those in the surrounding areas. Options for cyclists are endless; the Cumbre del Sol location is unbeatable for its natural surroundings and the main national parks in the area. For users with a different fitness level, you will find two perfect trails: the Puig Llorença and the Calistros-Abiar trails from Benitatxell. The more experienced cyclists will also find more challenging routes, like the one that reaches the Font de la Mata.
Racquet lovers will feel right at home on the Cumbre del Sol Tennis and Paddle courts, also where the Dylan Mary Tennis Academy is located. The owner, Dylan, has extensive experience in the sector and teaches classes adapted to different ages and levels. There are classes for toddlers from ages 2 to 3; a great way for them to come in contact with their first sport, elite training programs for teenagers who are looking for intensive preparation, as well as classes for adults. In addition, tennis and paddle tennis tournaments are organized for those looking for a challenge and a little competition. For those who enjoy hiking, the Costa Blanca offers a variety of trails. One of the most well-known trails is the Ruta de los acantilados (The Cliff Route), where you can enjoy unique ocean views starting from the Cala del Moraig, a stone’s throw from the Cumbre del Sol Residential Resort. For this sport, all you need are comfortable clothes and shoes. Put on your boots and begin your adventure!
Water sports fans will find their favorite place to swim and practice their scuba diving skills at the Cala del Moraig. In fact, there are several diving routes for all levels. One of the most unique routes is the Cueva de los Arcos, made for mid-level divers where you can observe the incredible marine ecosystem of the area, from moray eels to octopus. Remember, you don’t have to wait for summer to arrive to enjoy the water! With the warm temperatures on the Costa Blanca and a good wetsuit, you can enjoy the water 365 days a year.
If you are looking for a place to practice golf and improve your strokes, you are in luck! Jávea Golf Club is located less than 20 minutes from Cumbre del Sol. Though its fairway containing 9 holes, on the back nine many holes are played from different tees, essentially turning it into a fairway with 18 holes.
If horseback riding is your thing, you will be able to train at any time thanks to the Cañada del Sol equestrian centre, where they offer excursions as well as horseback riding classes. A great way to enjoy the wonderful weather of the area!
