Medieval Street Market in Teulada from 12th to 14th August: A travel back to the Middle Ages.

On Friday at 19:00 h, the medieval street market will open its doors with a parade, a dance and a typical medieval opening speech that will mark the start of a weekend filled with fun, jesters, jugglers, long-legged people and beggars all over the historic city centre of Teulada.

This year is the 100th birthday of Miguel Hernandez, the “people’s poet”, as they call it in Spain. He was born in Orihuela, south of Alicante province. As you might imagine, this anniversary is very important for the people of the Region of Valencia, especially in the province of Alicante.

Next Friday, November 26th, Casa de la Cultura of Javea will hold a reading of Miguel Hernandez poetry with music. This recital/reading with music will be directed and produced by Germain Droogenbroodt. It will be read not only in Spanish but also in Dutch and German.
