Cumbre del Sol: The Leisure You’re Looking For

Cumbre del Sol: The Leisure You’re Looking For

The good weather is here, and you can sense it all over! Both for the extra degrees and because some Covid-19 restrictions have been relaxed. This means that there will be more options for leisure activities for the coming weeks and months in our surroundings.

At Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol an event begins this weekend that we are especially excited about. This Saturday, May 15th, the S.P.D. Cumbre del Sol tennis school will be inaugurated! Although, for security reasons, the opening ceremony will be held online. The good news is that during the next week the courts will be open for you to test them out for free.

We have worked for a long time to design and create four unique tennis courts in our complex. And most importantly, at the school, each court will overlook the Mediterranean. Undoubtedly, it’s a unique space where you can practice this sport! In addition, while learning tennis you will have a team of professionals by your side who stand out for their enthusiasm and optimism. Bring out the player in you! The whole team is waiting for you this Saturday on their Facebook page where they will do a Live at 10h (UTC+2). And all next week on the courts. As we want to make it comfortable for you to come and play on the courts, you don’t need to bring any equipment. The facilities are fully equipped and at your disposal.

And we have more good news! During the month of May, we also have cultural activities for you. The glamping Dreamsea Mediterranean Camp, at Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol, organizes a live concert every Saturday. And it does so by joining one of the trends that has spread the most in the last year: afternoon meet-ups. These events will start at 17:00 p.m., so you can accompany them with tapas, a snack or even a drink. You decide!

The line-up? On Saturday, the 15th, The Rhythm Syncopators will take the stage. On the 22nd, rock comes to Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol with Pau Monteagudo. He has been on the scene since the 90’s with his band Uzzhuaia. Currently he continues to stand out in the music scene with his new band, Corazones Eléctricos.

And to send off May and welcome the summer month of June, the guest on May 29th will be Dj Ferro. This Portuguese artist will bring a fresh style to Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol. And he will do it with a sound that mixes techno and electro. If you fancy one of these concerts, move quickly! Places are limited, so reserve your table and mark that day on your calendar. You can make your reservation by calling +34 662 579 994.

And if you want to make plans for your summer vacations, we’ll tell you more! Dreamsea Mediterranean Camp is not only committed to music, they also organize various activities such as surfing, kayaking, SUP or even yoga classes, everything you need to spend unforgettable days in nature! So don’t wait any longer and check the Stories posted on their Instagram account to know the days and times of each activity.

Back to sports, which are very important at Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol. For this reason, this summer we will participate in two paddle tournaments. The first one, from the 1st to the 4th of July, will have one category for men and one for women, as well as three mixed categories and is fully sponsored by VAPF. The next competition will be in August –between the 5th and the 8th– and in this case there will be three categories for men and three for women, and only one mixed category. Are you interested? Visit the North Costa Blanca Padel Club Facebook group and meet our paddle community!

As you can see, there is a lot of variety: from tennis to rock to even paddle tournaments. Because May is the month of spring blossoms, but at Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol, we also want it to be a month filled with activities. Follow us on Instagram and Facebook to know all the news about our summer events and to be one of the first people to sign up. We can´t wait to see you!

Solidarity in Times of Crisis

Solidarity in Times of Crisis

It has not been an easy year for anyone. Starting with the health sector, various sectors have seen their activity reduced or interrupted. This was true for the cleaning, transport, food and hospitality sectors.

The latter has had great difficulty in recent months in resuming its activity and making it profitable and comparable to the rhythm of work prior to the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. On-site consumption in bars, restaurants and other catering establishments has clearly been affected by the health situation. There have been many weeks in which opening the doors was not an option.

Fortunately, and as a response to this unviable situation, businesses have been able to adapt and find other ways to offer their services and continue working, always respecting health and safety measures. In this sense, take-out has kept many businesses going.

But in this equation, businesses can’t make it happen without customers. Therefore, as a supportive initiative and to encourage the purchase of takeaway, many town councils have distributed information about the bars and restaurants that offer a take-out option to residents.

This is the case for Poble Nou de Benitatxell, where the Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol is located. Here, the council has distributed a leaflet with contact information for those establishments with takeaway service. In fact, one of them is Como en casa, the Mediterranean cuisine restaurant in our Sports Area.

In Benissa, where our Galeno Villas development is located, the town hall has also made a compilation with all the restaurants and bars that offer meals for pick up at the establishment or home delivery by appointment. In this case, the offer is very varied: from tapas restaurants to pizzerias, being supportive has never been so easy!

And there’s more: Teulada Moraira town council has also joined this supportive network by giving its bars and restaurants the opportunity to advertise on its website, as well as offering their residents information about it. The initiative, called ‘ Teulada Moraira at your table’, brings together all the information on cuisine options that Teulada Moraira residents can enjoy from their homes.

Workout at home

Beyond gastronomy and, as resident, being able to help the hotel and catering sector, there are also other initiatives in which we can collaborate during the pandemic.

One of them is sport. Have you also joined the fitness movement that got underway during the State of Alarm? Many people started to exercise at home accompanied by professionals on the screen. In Benissa, they have set up their own online classes! The municipal swimming pool offers total training, GAP, bodypower, hiit… there’s no excuse not to get fit!

There’s less and less time now before restrictions become a thing of the past. But in the meantime, as we have discussed, there are many ways to be supportive and help ease the burden for those who are having a harder time now… You can also check our blog regularly and follow us on Facebook and Instagram to find out all about the initiatives being launched near you. Every little bit counts, are you ready to help?

Wrapping Up the Region of Valencia Tennis Challenge

Wrapping Up the Region of Valencia Tennis Challenge

Last weekend we hosted the Region of Valencia Tennis Challenge, a very important professional sporting event, given it was the first to take place in Spain after the state of alarm was declared in March due to the COVID-19 crisis.

Held in our Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol sports centre, four TOP 100 tennis players on the ATP circuit participated in the event: Roberto Bautista, Pablo Carreño, Alex de Miñaur and Pablo Andújar. During the two daily matches that were played, the players competed using the round-robin format in which the winner would be the best of 3 sets.

The event got underway on Friday, the 5th and it was De Miñaur who scored highest with 6-3, 6-2 over Andujar. The latter executed his plays very well and gave a good fight, but it wasn’t enough to beat De Miñaur.

During the second match, Carreño and Bautista competed in a close game in which Carreño defended his position expertly. However, in the end, it wasn’t quite enough, as Bautista obtained a 6-4, 6-4 victory.

The event continued into its second day on Saturday when Andujar and Bautista went head to head. Bautista sought his second consecutive victory after beating Carreño on Friday and achieved it in just two games with a score of 6-1, 6-1.

The match between De Miñaur and Carreño followed. The young Australian, who had already beaten Andujar on Friday, almost lost the first set, but then was able to recover during the second set with only one break. He rose to victory with a score of 7-5, 6-4.

Finally, on the third day of the event, the organization had to make the difficult decision to cancel the final matches due to heavy rain that made it impossible to finish.

At VAPF, we are proud to be able to take part in an event of this nature and this is why we are working to make Cumbre del Sol one of the benchmark residential developments on the Costa Blanca.

We awarded the prizes for our 2nd Christmas Decoration Contest

We awarded the prizes for our 2nd Christmas Decoration Contest

Christmas has now completely taken over in Cumbre del Sol Residential Resort, not just because of the time of year, but because many of our neighbours have shown their more creative side by decorating their homes and filling them with colour and light. We are delighted with the results!

Here at VAPF, we want to thank all those who took part in this magical contest – it has filled our streets with Christmas spirit and allowed us to get together and share one of the most valuable things we can offer: time. For this reason, it was a real pleasure that we were all able to come together, both neighbours and those who work at VAPF, to give out the prizes for the best decorations.

This year, the level of all entries in the 2nd Christmas Decoration contest was high, so choosing our winners wasn’t easy. We love that our neighbours took our Christmas challenge so seriously! First prize for outside decoration went to Mr. and Mrs. Hough, second prize to Mr. and Mrs. Pálsson, third to Mr. and Mrs. Mussmann, and fourth to Mr. and Mrs. Schrijnemakers. Congratulations to all our winners! Again, many, many thanks to all those who took part.

All the winners received a Christmas hamper and the rest of the participants were also given a small token gift. While the prizes were being awarded, at Restaurant La Cumbre, we enjoyed a Christmas appetiser with all those who participated. It was, without doubt, the best way to celebrate this special time of year with our neighbours!

Here at VAPF, we would like to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy new year. We promise that there will be lots of new things to come in 2019… and we can’t wait to tell you about them!
