It has not been an easy year for anyone. Starting with the health sector, various sectors have seen their activity reduced or interrupted. This was true for the cleaning, transport, food and hospitality sectors.

The latter has had great difficulty in recent months in resuming its activity and making it profitable and comparable to the rhythm of work prior to the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. On-site consumption in bars, restaurants and other catering establishments has clearly been affected by the health situation. There have been many weeks in which opening the doors was not an option.

Fortunately, and as a response to this unviable situation, businesses have been able to adapt and find other ways to offer their services and continue working, always respecting health and safety measures. In this sense, take-out has kept many businesses going.

But in this equation, businesses can’t make it happen without customers. Therefore, as a supportive initiative and to encourage the purchase of takeaway, many town councils have distributed information about the bars and restaurants that offer a take-out option to residents.

This is the case for Poble Nou de Benitatxell, where the Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol is located. Here, the council has distributed a leaflet with contact information for those establishments with takeaway service. In fact, one of them is Como en casa, the Mediterranean cuisine restaurant in our Sports Area.

In Benissa, where our Galeno Villas development is located, the town hall has also made a compilation with all the restaurants and bars that offer meals for pick up at the establishment or home delivery by appointment. In this case, the offer is very varied: from tapas restaurants to pizzerias, being supportive has never been so easy!

And there’s more: Teulada Moraira town council has also joined this supportive network by giving its bars and restaurants the opportunity to advertise on its website, as well as offering their residents information about it. The initiative, called ‘ Teulada Moraira at your table’, brings together all the information on cuisine options that Teulada Moraira residents can enjoy from their homes.

Workout at home

Beyond gastronomy and, as resident, being able to help the hotel and catering sector, there are also other initiatives in which we can collaborate during the pandemic.

One of them is sport. Have you also joined the fitness movement that got underway during the State of Alarm? Many people started to exercise at home accompanied by professionals on the screen. In Benissa, they have set up their own online classes! The municipal swimming pool offers total training, GAP, bodypower, hiit… there’s no excuse not to get fit!

There’s less and less time now before restrictions become a thing of the past. But in the meantime, as we have discussed, there are many ways to be supportive and help ease the burden for those who are having a harder time now… You can also check our blog regularly and follow us on Facebook and Instagram to find out all about the initiatives being launched near you. Every little bit counts, are you ready to help?
