Altea, a colourful coastal town in the region of Alicante, Spain, has become the setting for one of the most exciting and highly acclaimed performances: the Castell de l’Olla. This wonderful festival, which attracts more than 50,000 people every year, is much more than just a fireworks display; it is a magical experience that takes place in the heart of the Mediterranean Sea that laps the Altea coastline. From a special platform, the Castell de l’Olla is launched, rising from the sea itself and reflecting in its water, enhancing its charm.
A historic and emotional event
The Castell de l’Olla has a history of more than 30 years and has been gaining popularity over time. It originated as a tribute to the beloved local pyrotechnician Blas Aznar, affectionately known as “el tío Blai, el coheter”, who sadly passed away a few years ago. In his memory, a special fireworks display was launched, and since then, this celebration has grown into the magnificent show it is today.

The charm and emotion that surround Castell de l’Olla have been recognised at the tourist level. In 1999, it was awarded the prize for Tourist Merit in the gold category by the Costa Blanca County Tourist Board. This summer the Montecala Gardens Open Days are back at Cumbre del Sol, we are opening the doors of the show apartment and we invite you to come and visit it and have a coffee, a glass of cava, or simply to chat about the new developments we are preparing, both in Cumbre del Sol and in other locations where Grupo VAPF is present.
We will be holding 2 Open Days, one in July and one in August, so that you have more opportunities to come and visit Montecala Gardens, at the following address: Montecala Gardens- Calle Greco nº1- vivienda 1.
July: 26th, 27th and 28th from 10:00-18:00
August: 9th, 10th and 11th from 10:00-18:00
To attend the Montecala Gardens Open Day you only have to register, we will be happy to show you the apartaments and explain you all the details.
At the Open Day, as well as visiting the show apartment, you will be able to see how the works are proceeding, as the construction of the apartments are already in progress and the first sales have already been formalised, so we couldn’t be happier.
The new Montecala Gardens apartaments, have the same qualities and design as the show apartment you are going to visit, but as always, they include some new features, all the apartments have a storage room which provides extra space, ideal for storing bicycles, suitcases, beach accessories,etc… an extra space that always comes in handy.
They also include a photovoltaic installation to power the communal areas (lift, staircase light) and the surplus energy is distributed among the apartments. These measures, together with the efficiency of the installations in the homes, mean that they have an A energy certificate, a plus in terms of sustainability and savings.
They also have communal covered parking, and complete communal services with several swimming pools, large terraces, children’s play area and social club. Furthermore, from the apartments you can walk to Cala Llebeig.
There are several apartment models to choose from, depending on your needs, with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, with large terraces, with terrace and garden, or duplex with terrace and a large garden, as well as very pleasant views of the residential area and the sea.

Once again, the Belgium National Day is celebrated in Cumbre del Sol. Specifically in La Cumbre Restaurant. A dinner with a performance, this time we are going to enjoy the cabaret, as well as the traditional photocall, which we will bring back again in this edition in response to the request of the attendees, as well as a DJ and many new things to surprise the assistants.
On Friday 21st of July 2023 the party is guaranteed and we will enjoy a special menu prepared for the occasion by Eloy and Celia, the managers of La Cumbre restaurant. You are still in time to join the party, here is the information: 5th Belgium National Day Menu
The entrance price is €75 for adults and €25 for children.
This will be the 5th edition of this party, which has established itself as one of the must-attend events of the summer in Cumbre del Sol, so we invite you to come and celebrate it with us.
You have until Wednesday the 19th of July to book your reservation. How to do it? Send an email to cumbredelsol@vapf.com with the number of guests, their names and surnames ( distinguishing between children and adults). In the childrens case, they have to choose their main dish, or directly they can do it at the restaurant.

- Open Days Montecala Gardens– from the 26th to the 28th of July from 10:00 to 19:00 we invite you to visit the new apartments in Montecala Gardens, the works are already underway and we have a lot of novelties to show you, with a glass of cava of course. We will repeat the event on the 9th to the 11th of August.
- VAPF Padel Tournament in Cumbre del Sol- from the 24th to the 26th of August we invite you to participate in the VAPF Padel Tournament in Cumbre del Sol, organized by North Costa Blanca Padel Club and sponsored by VAPF, with prizes for all participants and awards for the winners. A tournament not to be missed if you like padel.
- Charity Party in benefit of Save The Children on the 8th of September at La Cumbre Restaurant. An occasion to get together, enjoy live music, a good dinner under the moonlight, and also to collaborate with for a good cause.

Once again, the VAPF group has been present at the closing ceremony of the Benitatxell Base Football School (F:B: Benitachell), as sponsors of the same.
At the event, trophies and medals were presented to the boys and girls of the school, who have shined this season, obtaining spectacular results. Benjamin A and Benjamin B were proclaimed league champions, and Alevín B were runners-up. In addition there is one more point to be made this year, as it was the first season that F.B. Benitachell had a women’s team. A total of 177 children have made history.
From VAPF we would like to congratulate them on these results, both the students and their coaching staff. We are delighted to be able to support the Benitatxell municipal football school, to promote the practice of sport, the values involved, teamwork, healthy living, companionship, equality, sportsmanship, effort, so important at this age, we are proud to be able to contribute to it.
