Find below some useful information for all residents of Benitachell and Cumbre del Sol regarding the sporting event just published by the sports council for the academic year 2012-2013.
Courses and activities open for this year: Gymnastics, aerobics, pilates, Valencian ball, tennis and karate, all of them at different levels and for all ages.
Puig de la Llorença
The summit of the Puig de la Llorença (Cumbre del Sol), will become a lookout site geared with telescopes next Saturday 18 August as part of the day of astronomical observation in Poble Nou de Benitachell.This event will be organized by the Town of Benitachell in collaboration with the Association of Astronomy of the Marina Alta and the sponsorship of Grupo VAPF. The activity is open to all ages and nationalities and will be English and Spanish spoken from 19:00 to 24:00 h.

Benitachell Town Hall
The City of El Poble Nou de Benitachell has provided a new vehicle to the Civil Defence volunteers.
The new vehicle will ensure the functionality and efficiency of Civil Defense corps through the replacement of the old car that already had significant limitations. The new vehicle was acquired under a leasing scheme since this way is the most efficient option for long-term budget and operability.
Benitachell church Square
During the month of August in Benitachell everyone can enjoy nice films in an outdoor free movie theater improvised at the Church Square every Wednesday at 22:00 in the framework of the season “Cinema al carrer” (movies at the Street). Films will be screened in Castilian language on 8 and 29 August and in Valencian language on 22 August.
Lirios Roundabout
The City of El Poble Nou de Benitachell is improving the street signals at Puig Llorença area of Cumbre del Sol. The Road Safety Project has added new signage at strategic locations, both horizontally and vertically, to limit traffic speeds and improve safety for pedestrians and drivers. This project improves road safety in the residential area and implements all the right traffic signs at major junctions and intersections of the road network.
According to the preliminary Local Police report, the town’s Services Department has taken actions on eleven priority issues on junctions and roads including South access (Kalmias), Lirios, Magnolias, Pueblo del Mar, Dalias, Adelfas, Pueblo de la Paz, Pueblo de la Luz and Moraig access road.
