Christmas Has Arrived At Cumbre del Sol!

Christmas Has Arrived At Cumbre del Sol!

At last. It’s that time of year we’ve all been waiting for: Christmas! Naturally, it’s a time of year filled with joy and special moments, but if you are at Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol, you will spend your holidays surrounded by an unparalleled natural landscape with great views of the Mediterranean. You also won’t feel the bitter winter cold thanks to the very mild temperatures that the area experiences.

Once again, we have decorated the entire residential area so that the magic of Christmas reaches all our residents and, despite the ups and downs that have occurred during this very atypical year, we hope that you will be able to enjoy beautiful moments with your family, respecting the security measures. And that is why, despite it being one of our favourite activities, this year we weren’t able to hold our traditional Christmas decoration competition. This is due to the fact that we are unable to go to your homes in person to see all the ways that you’ve gotten creative with your decorations.

But that is not a reason not to decorate your homes; in fact, as we really like this time of year, we encourage you more than ever to do so that all Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol exudes the magic and joy of the season. Then, if you want, you can upload photos on your social profiles so that we can see them and share them in our Stories!

As we all know, these dates are very important to disconnect and spend time with our loved ones. For this reason, VAPF’s offices will have special opening hours which we will announce in the coming days on the corporate blog. We hope you´ll check it on a regularly basis to keep up-to-date with all our news. In addition, we also have profiles on Facebook and Instagram where we share all our news and talk about Cumbre del Sol homes so that you don’t miss any information.

Don’t give it another thought, if you are looking to live in an incomparable location and in a home with all the finishes touches, we are your best option. Remember, in order to make an appointment or ask for additional information, you can also fill in our contact form. Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!

Preparing Your Home for Christmas

Preparing Your Home for Christmas

These last few months have been very complicated for everyone, but we can still end 2020 on a good note: why not start by bringing the magic of Christmas into your home? As well as giving your home a makeover, you will also enjoy quality time with your family. Make yourself comfortable, reminisce while pulling out all the decorations from previous years and let’s get to work! One thing though, don’t forget the music! Our recommendation? Michael Bublé never fails. And, because this Christmas we’ll be spending much more time at home, what do you think about giving all your decorations a personalised touch? Continue reading for a heaping of craft ideas that you can do together to enjoy a much more sustainable Christmas.

A personalised advent calendar.

What do you need? String/twine, clothespins, adhesive tape and gift wrap, the more colourful and varied, the better!

To start with, make 24 little envelopes with the gift wrap and adhesive tape and don’t forget to fill them with your surprises, whether they be chocolate or something else, and number them, one for each day of the month until Christmas Eve. Once you’re ready, simply extend the string. You can make several strips if you prefer, and clip the envelopes with the clothespins. If you jumble them up, then it will be even more fun. And that’s it! Can you handle the temptation, or will you open them all at once?

A tree full of gifts.

What do you need? Empty boxes, bows or rope made of esparto straw and gift wrap.

The tree looks it’s best with all the gifts underneath, doesn’t it? The problem is that, if you also leave your shopping to the last minute, you’ll only be able to enjoy this very Christmassy scene on Christmas Day. We have a trick! Find a couple of boxes you don’t use at home, shoeboxes or any other kind, and wrap them up. Remember to consider your overall Christmas theme for your false gifts: a corrugated box with red paper and wrapped with a good golden bow will look beautiful on a more traditional tree, but if, on the contrary, you choose a more natural and rustic touch, opt for Kraft paper, esparto grass strings, and top it off with dried leaves as a finishing touch.

Recycle your decorations from previous Christmas.

What do you need? A pair of old-fashioned baubles and paint.

Don’t throw away those decorations that have become obsolete or that you simply don’t like anymore. You probably have some spray paint at home, take it out and give those baubles a second life. Before drying, you can sprinkle sequins or glitter on them. If you don’t like them on the tree, you can always use them for a wreath or a Christmas centre. They will also look beautiful in a transparent vase.

The traditional Christmas wreath.

What do you need? Any wild plant in shades of green, pineapples, nuts, dried flowers… Give free rein to your imagination!

Tell us, what is a door without a good wreath during Christmas? Take a walk through the natural landscape surrounding your home at Cumbre del Sol and pick out any element that might look good for your wreath. To shape it, you can use a wire and, with a little thread, tie the base of green leaves to your form. For the rest of the decorations, you can use a hot glue gun or any other adhesive you have at home and decorate as you like.

Your own Christmas tree decorations

What do you need? A pair of scissors, needle, thread, felt, string and cotton for the filling.

The steps are simple, draw a series of templates on paper and cut them out: trees, candy canes, stars… Once you have your templates, use them to shape your design on the felt. Cut out two sides and join them with the needle and thread. When it is almost completely threaded, stuff the cotton in as a filling, finish closing it with the needle so that nothing escapes and use a string as a loop to hang them on the tree. You can bring your designs to life with sequins or embroidering different patterns, such as snowflakes.

As you can see, spending time at home can be a lot of fun, especially if its quality time with family! If you are feeling adventurous enough to craft some of these yourself, don’t forget to share your experience with us in a comment on the blog or by tagging us on our Facebook and Instagram, where, as you know, we always keep you up to date with all the news taking place at this Costa Blanca paradise: Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol.

Enjoy a memorable Christmas on the Spanish Costa Blanca

Enjoy a memorable Christmas on the Spanish Costa Blanca

The Costa Blanca is a wonderful place due to its excellent weather and lovely little towns that are spread throughout the whole area. Benitatxell, being one of those towns, is where you’ll find Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol, home to our best apartment and luxury villa developments. Furthermore, during this season, the landscape transforms to make way for autumn postcards and offers a very special Christmas under the sun and next to the sea. Sometimes it’s hard to believe that it’s wintertime here, as the temperatures are so mild and the weather is spectacular, but little by little, the Christmas spirit is sweeping over the region. In fact, we’ve decorated different places at Cumbre del Sol and the residents have decorated their homes to welcome the holidays.

Besides Cumbre del Sol, all the towns and cities that are close by also organise numerous events to celebrate Christmas. This is the case for Benissa that inaugurated their nativity scene on the 1st of December. Music, films, workshops, and a Christmas market…Benissa has everything that you could need to spend a magical time with your family and friends, and just like in years past, the Three Kings will arrive to the city on January 5th to hand out gifts.

Benitatxell is no exception, as they have organised a Christmas market on the 15th of December with food stalls, clothes, arts and crafts, a gymkhana, and the famous “Burreta de Nadal” or Christmas donkey. In addition, children between the ages of 3 and 12 have until December 18th to enrol in Christmas school and do crafts, sports, traditional games and Christmas activities with other children on the 23, 24, 27, 30 and 31st of December and 2nd and 3rd January from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. We’ll give you a preview of the whole schedule for the month of December, as on the 24th, Santa Claus will visit the city with a parade starting at 5:00 pm. The youngest ones can watch a film in the social centre on Thursday, the 26th at 6:30 p.m., listen to Christmas carols on the 27th at the church or even watch a puppet show on the 28th at 12:00 pm. We can also tell you that the first week of January will be full of fun Christmas events: a visit from the Three Kings’ messenger (January 2nd), a children’s theatre, Christmas park with blow-ups, face painting and much more (January 4th). Don’t forget the traditional Three Wise Men parade and the distribution of gifts (January 5th at 6:30 pm).

To the south, you’ll find the town of Teulada-Moraira, also close to Cumbre del Sol. After the Teulada English Choir’s Christmas concert on December 6th, the city will be totally immersed in music as the AMCT invites you to attend its Christmas concert scheduled for December 20th in the Santa Catalina church in Teulada. In addition, the Teulada-Moraira Auditorium offers you an exception program during the holidays with a performance of Swan Lake by the Moscow Ballet and they UCAM Symphony Orchestra on December 21st, and the Christmas concert by Alicante’s Youth Orchestra (OJPA) on December 28th. On December 22nd, the city will have a typical Christmas market on Avenida Santa Catalina and the Town hall Plaza, Plaza del Ayuntamiento, in Teulada with local artisanal products. You can also continue until you reach Altea where you’ll find an ice-skating rink, rides, and games that await you in the Plaça del Nadal.

If you’d like to live a different and unique experience, then we recommend visiting the Baleária Port in Dénia. The city has everything up and ready for Christmas, in fact they turned on the lights and kicked off the holiday season on November 30th. Both adults and the younger ones can enjoy the ice-skating rink (until January 6th) and inflatable castles (until January 4th). In addition, the Jauja Port will host a concert by Valencia’s Higher Conservatory Orchestra, magician, Hugo Arcil, will surprise everyone with his tricks on the 23rd, and the children’s show “El Mundo de Drilo,” will take place on December 30th.

Lastly, you can take advantage of Christmas to visit Valencia or Alicante. Cumbre del Sol is conveniently located halfway between the two cities, both offering a multitude of activities throughout the month of December and early January: lights, a Christmas market, Santa Claus’ house, ice skating rinks, slides, a fair, and the Cavalcade of Magi (Three Kings Parade).

The best time of the year begins now and VAPF wants to make sure that you enjoy it to the fullest. Let yourself be swept away by the Christmas spirit and discover everything that’s been organised in the surrounding area to make these holidays exceptional. As for us, we invite you to unleash your creative side by decorating your home and we remind you that the best way to find out about the events we organise is by following us on our Facebook page.

We’re launching our 3rd Annual Christmas Decorating Contest!

We’re launching our 3rd Annual Christmas Decorating Contest!

Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol is a true paradise thanks to its location, weather, and sea views and for a few weeks during December, this idyllic location becomes even more magical. Suddenly, the streets are filled with snowmen, the palm trees are transformed into Christmas trees and the houses are all decked out. As this transformation is so important to us, we would like to invite all our neighbours to decorate both the inside and outside of their homes. This way, the Christmas spirit will really come alive at Cumbre del Sol!

For the third consecutive year, VAPF is organising a Christmas Decorating Contest and we invite all our homeowners and tenants at Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol to register and decorate the exterior and interior of their home. To register, all you have to do is send an e-mail to cumbredelsol@vapf.com with your name, surname, address, telephone number, e-mail, specifying which category or categories you’d like to participate in. You have until December 10th.

Once the registration period has ended, the “Decorating your home at Christmas” jury, made up of VAPF employees, will visit each property on the 12th and 13th of December beginning at 5:00 p.m. and will score the homes from 0 and 5 points in order to decide on the winner for each category. In case there is a tie, a second scoring will be done that will range on a scale from 1 to 3.

But that’s not all, as we hope to see you on December 17th to welcome Christmas together, where we will give out the First and Second place prizes for the best interior and exterior decorations. In addition, each participant will receive a gift courtesy of VAPF, because we appreciate our neighbours’ participation and we want to work together to transform Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol. Let’s make it brighter than ever! This event will be full of surprises so don’t miss out.

To participate, all you have to do is register before December 10th, decorate your home, have everything ready before December 12th at 9:00 am, and leave the decorations up until January 6th, 2020. Ready to get in the Christmas spirit?
