The Education Department’s National Museum of Prado has scheduled a lecture of this important artistic trend was at its height between the seventeenth century until the mid-nineteenth century, to take the opportunity of the passage of the exhibition “Spanish Still Life in the Prado” in the nearby town of Alcoy until June this year.
The Social Centre of Benitachell is the place where the conference will be presented on April 13, 2011 by the lecturer Inés María Megías Roca from Prado Museum. The lecture will start at 19:30 h. The venue will be at Benitachell Social Center.
This conference will provide a brief overview of the work of famous masters like Van der Hamen, Zurbarán, Pereda, Arellano, Meléndez, Paret, Goya and Lucas, among many other authors.
Emphasis will also be done in the evolution of still life and major features from the initial phase of the Baroque to Romanticism.
