Pego Carnival 2011
The Carnival fiestas in Pego start on Saturday, 5th March 2011.
From 22:30 to 01:30 h, Pla de la Font square will be the meeting point for whoever wants to put on a fancy dress and enjoy the fiesta. The Pato Daniel Orchestra will entertain the attendees.
After a while, the parade will depart towards Paso de Michel. There, a mobile macrodiscotheque and the Euforia, Scream and Montecarlo orchestras will be livening up the place.
Next Saturday 12th at 23:00 h, the carnival will end with the pinyata or entierro de la sardina, which could be a different experience for newcomers. Those who want to take part will have to wear black mourning clothes and meet at the Town Hall Square. From there, the participants will parade until Pal del Font, where a bonfire will be lit and the remains of the carnival will be burnt. Later, a fireworks and music show called Nit Màgica will be presented by Xarxa Teatre.
