Benitachell will finally have a water tank.
In 1998, the Senija well was temporarily closed. This situation led to an analysis of the water supply required on the area in case of deficiencies in the service. It was calculated that on a day, the area would require 22,736 cubic metres.
To comply with this number, additional tanks had to be built, to increase the current capacity in 10.000 cubic metres. The decision was made to build a 6,000 cubic metres water tank in Teulada and another of 4,000 cubic metres in Cumbre del Sol.
The water tank in Teulada was successfully built years ago, but the one in Benitachell could not be built until now because the experts could not find the right plot.
Fortunately, they recently found the perfect place in the north access to Cumbre del Sol and the building works have started.
This project is financed by the Government of the Region of Valencia. It has an assigned budget of €614,241.
Thats great news, will this water be potable, drinkable. Our current water on Cumbre del sol is disgusting, There is a lot of sand in it, which could mean paracites, We can smell the sewage here and so can the holiday makers. We have problems with the water supply and many leaks every year. Its good to know that somebody cares. The water here on cumbre is almost as bad as the third world. We pay our taxes and nobody cares and we dont get anything for them. Thank you
