New hydrants in Benitatxell
The Department of Safety Benitachell -directed by Dirk Rheindorf- proceeded to the installation of twelve new water intake points for firefighting. The new hydrants are located all around the town and also on residential developments such as La Joya, Ecoparque, Les Fonts, Calistros, Valle del Portet, Golden Valley and Cumbre del Sol.
Local Police, Firefighters and Civil Protection are aware of the new water intake locations so they can use quickly if a fire breaks out.
The work consists of the installation of hydrants buried under ground level. They are manhole hydrants with built-in valve, cover and frame made of cast iron according to current regulations. Its implementation also includes trenching, existing pipeline connection, trench covering and replacement of pavement.
The hydrant will provide large amounts of water in a short time and allows connection of hoses and firefighting equipment for filling water tanks in firetrucks.
