La vuelta at Cumbre del Sol
The 2016 “La Vuelta” Spanish cycling tour will be held from 20 August to 11 September 2016 and –as you might know- Valencia Region will play an important role in this new edition, with three stages that could be decisive as the final part runs along the Mediterranean.
We will have the opportunity to enjoy the event once again in Benitatxell next 9 September in its 19th stage. This will be a 39 kilometers long time trial from Jávea to Calpe, through Benitachell and Teulada-Moraira.
It will be the first time that the Tour will have a CRI in a stage just three trials before the final one.
On Saturday 10 September, the event continues in Valencia with a 184 km stage from Benidorm to the Alto Aitana, with a special category mountain pass, three 2nd category and one 3rd category. La Vuelta returns to 22 kilometers long Alto de Aitana and have a vertical drop of 1280 meters. The average gradient is 5.72%.
