Moors and Christians in Benitachell 2010

Just like every year in July, Benitachell celebrates the Moors and Christians fiestas, one of the fiestas that most visitors attracts to the town and, year after year, is a success. This year the fiestas will be from the 9th to the 11th of July.

We hereby include the program of events for the Benitachell Moors and Christians 2010, so you can enjoy every single moment:

Friday July 9th at 11:30pm the fiesta starts with a parade, headed by the Central Board’s flag bearer, which will call at each one of the “Filaes” (Moors and Christians Associations) so that their members join the parade. This will be followed by the speech proclaiming the start of the fiestas and the presentation of the banners, ending with a fantastic fireworks display and parties in the Kabilas.

– Saturday July 10th at 9:00am musket firing by the “Filaes” accompanied by their marching bands, parade at 12:00pm and fraternal visit to the Ben-Abiar and Les Pobladores Kabilas. In the afternoon, at 7:30pm, floral tribute and, at 8:00pm, mass in honour of St. Sebastian, Patron Saint of the Moors and Christians in Benitachell. Starting at midnight, Kabila Night will all attendees invited.

– Sunday July 11th at 9:00am musket firing by the “Filaes” accompanied by their marching bands, parade at 12:00pm and fraternal visit to the Els Trabuquers Kabila. In the afternoon at 7:30pm, parade with the marching bands starting at the Town Hall followed by the Moors and Christians Grand Gala Parade.
