Tastavins Benitachell

Tastavins Benitachell

The Poble Nou de Benitachell will host Tastavins 2015-16, an advanced course in wine knowledge.

Following the success of the previous edition, the Department of Economic Development brings once again this course on wine culture in the framework of the BioMoscatell project created in Benitachell aiming to make local Muscat grape and winemaking tradition known.

The tasting lessons comprise 78 teaching hours and will be taught by experts from the Miguel Hernandez University, Valencia University, winery business and other international organizations from France, Italy and Portugal.

The course –Organized by Aula Vinícola- will take place from 25 November 2015 until 26 October 2016 and includes some 34 hours of practices (on top the teaching hours) in wineries, vineyards and laboratories, where participating people will taste 110 wines from different countries.

Juan Martin, professor and course director, said that the Benitachell’s Tastavins is one of the most consolidated, integrated and committed town to ever hold this course. “Those interested in this subject may benefit a lot this year as we will have the presence of important personalities from around the world like London University Professor John Maher, who will teach the lecture “History of Wine”” advanced Mr. Martin.
