Guardia Civil of Javea recently announced that “Poble Nou de Benitachell is a safe town”, statement seconded by the local Safety Board, which said that crime rates in the municipality are kept below average and continue to decline.
The figures revealed the declining number of infringements compared to years 2013 and 2014, following the downward trend of recent years. According to the numbers provided by the Guardia Civil, in 2014 were recorded 179 offenses, and to date, only 88 crimes has been registered in town.
There is, therefore, a decrease of 33% in the crime rate compared to last year around the same time.
“The crime rate is very low compared to the national average. We can say that Benitachell is a safe town, thanks to the excellent cooperation of all law enforcement forces involved” commented Javier Soliveres, lieutenant of Guardia Civil of Javea.
The Safety Board is formed by Mayor Josep Femenia, Councillor Dirk Rheindorf of Citizen Security, Calpe’s Guardia Civil Captain Diego Saez, Xàbia’s Guardia Civil Lieutenant Javier Soliveres Canizares, Provincial Chief Jose Antonio Fernandez de la Dueña of the Autonomic Police Department, and the local police chief, Jose Francisco Mayans.
