Benitachell Town Hall
Antonio Sentí -President of the Marina Alta Solidarity Federation- and Benitachell Mayor Josep Femenia, signed a long-term agreement for the collection of bottle caps for charity.
The mayor of Benitachell wanted to emphasize the fact that the collaborative path opened by the city can be imitated by other towns in the region. “It is true that other municipalities as Javea or Denia maintain a verbal partnership, but we have gone a step further by doing it in an official way with the federation, especially because our people are very generous and supportive and many neighbors have already committed with collecting bottle caps on their own”, pointed out Femenia.
The caps collected by neighbors will be taken to the Denia’s Ecopark where will be weighted. The charity organization will get 200 € per ton of bottle caps collected. The money will be used to entirely for orthopedic assistance for children and special treatment not covered by public health sistem.
To facilitate the collection of caps, the Department of Social Services placed cardboard containers in different municipal offices such as City Hall, Local Police, Library, St. María Magdalena School and Municipal Public Market.
