Wine at Benitachell
2nd Artisan Wine Competition in Poble Nou de Benitachell. People or small wine factories interested in expose their products may sign in until 31 March at the City Library or at the office of the Local Development Agency. The jury will evaluate the wines during the 2nd Wine and Fava (broad beans) Festival on 6 April.
Participant wines can be white or dark and must be made from traditional techniques. According to the rules, the raw material of these native varieties should be produced in Benitachell in 2013. Participants wines samples will be collected on Saturday 5 April: the organization will deliver two empty bottles to participants, who must fill them in front of the jury presence. The next day (Sunday, 6 April) at 11:00 h. there will be wine tasting by an expert jury which will decide on the qualities of the wines.
This competition aims to promote one of the local traditional products as well as assess and publicize artisanal wine making techniques handed down from generation to generation. To that end, the Neighborhood Association and the departments of Economic Development and Culture encourage neighbors Benitachell to participate in this competition.
