Teulada Auditorium
The musical West Side Story will be performed at the Teulada-Moraira Auditorium next Friday 7 March at 19:30 h. performed by Youth Footlights Theatre Company.
The play is based on the story of Romeo and Juliet by W. Shakespeare, but adapted to modern times: In New York, two youth gangs (Sharks, Puerto Rican immigrants, and the Jets, Irish-Americans) are rivals and live in constant disputes. The conflict arises when Maria (the sister of the Puerto Rican gang leader Bernardo) and Tony (a former member of the Jets) fall in love. As in the book of W. Shakespeare, the two bands just solve their disputes with the death of lovers.
