The Department of Culture along with the School of Music and Dance opened the Benitachell’s Young Performers Competition for the third consecutive year.
This initiative is consolidating as a very important local music competition as well as platform to stardom for younger players. This competition will take place on Saturday 1 March as a first event in the framework of 2014 Spring Concert season.
The competition is open to all music students aged 10 to 17 years old who have completed the second year of instruments performance and musical language. Thus, the contest rules establish two categories: basic studies and professional studies; in both modes two prizes will be awarded.
The contest will take place on Saturday 1 March at 20:00 h. at Santa Maria Magdalena church. Candidates will perform any piece of a maximum of 5 minutes. They also have the possibility of having a piano accompanist.
