The Department of Agriculture of the City of Poble Nou de Benitachell is organizing a conference around the Muscat grape as the main local product and its derivatives products like wine and gastronomic applications. This event will take place in two informative sessions of presentations and a culinary show on Fridays 4 and 25 October. This cuisine event is aimed to boost the local produce and to introduce the BioMoscatell project.
This event is open to all residents, wine industry technicians and related professionals.
The program will begin on Friday 4 October with a lecture entitled “Sustainable agriculture in our region” by Jose Manuel Bisetto. Bisetto will introduce the new BioMoscatell concept and UPV professor Rafael Laborde will explain how to perform a biological control of Muscat grape. After that, the local Neighborhood Association along with the Moscatel Defenders Association of Marina Alta will bring us the Lecture “Degustation and knowledge of Muscat” by Tonet Puig. Later that day, everybody is invited to the lecture “winemaking from Muscat grapes” by Manu Guardiola.
Finally, there will be a degustation of food prepared or seasoned with Muscat grapes at the Multifunctional Cultural Space by local restaurants like El Marino, La Seu and the Forn (Dénia), Los Almendros del Montgo (Javea) and La Cumbre (Benitachell).
The degustation will take place from 19:00 to 21:30 h.
On Friday 25 October at 19:30 h. -also at Multifunctional Cultural Space- will be held the symposium “Energy audit and CO2 emissions in Muscat grape Vineland plots” by Jordi Domingo from AgriClimateChange organization.
Agriculture technician and BioMoscatell project coordinator José Manuel Bisetto said that “these sessions, on one hand, provide a technical base and knowledge of our product and ,on the other hand, offer an alternative beyond the traditional use, so local residents can get closer to new flavors and new ways to enjoy our Muscat grapes”.
