Moraig Beach

Moraig Beach

The shoreline cleanup of Moraig Cove ended in a collection of 200 kg of waste. The 16 volunteers who participated in the activity filled an entire waste container.

Nine volunteers collected trash along the shore, while the other seven made underwater clean. This time, underwater cleaning focused on the northern end of the beach, near Els Testos cove.

The volunteers collected rubbish that thoughtless visitors leave on the beach. The trash found in the beach was mainly plastics bottles, bags, glasses, papers and a lot of cigarette butts. Regarding the underwater cleaning, it is to remark that most of the trash found is the typical waste coming from boats and yachts activity. On this occasion, we proceeded to clean Els Testos cove for the first time.

Tourism Councillor Silvia Mayans explained that this activity aims at promoting respect for the environment and to remark the responsibility of all users and visitors to contribute to the maintenance of the coastal zone.

Also during this activity,  the lifeguard service performed a rescue drill where bathers could see the search and rescue tasks, both terrestrial and marine.
