San Juan Bonfires in Alicante
Alicante Bonfires Festival will take place from 19 to 29 June. This festival features a 3 bullfighting exhibition (one mixed, one on horseback and the other with lancers), a “Picador” contest and two workshops.
22 June
Bullfighters José María Manzanares, Manuel Manzanares and Enrique Ponce will perform against bulls from San Mato, San Pelayo, Victoriano del Río River and Toros de Cortes cattle ranchs.
23 June
Matadors Sebastian Castella, Miguel Angel Perera and Daniel Luque, will fight bulls from Alcurucén Ranch.
24 June
Matadors Jose Juan Padilla, “El Fandi” and Alejandro Talavante, with fight bulls from Zalduendo ranch.
29 June
Lancer bullfight performed by Andy Cartagena, Diego Ventura and Miguel Moura with bulls from Fermin Bohorquez Ranch.
Also this year will be other side events as two workshop classes on 19 and 20 June and a heifers’ fight, on 21 June 21 with “picadors” such as Roman, Borja Alvarez and Lama de Góngora.
