Kayak Crossing 2013
On Saturday 18 May will be held in Moraira the fourth edition of Travesía Amigos del Kayak (Friends of the Kayak Crossing) a noncompetitive race will run along 11.88 nautical miles (about 22 km) and will bring together athletes from different parts of the Valencia Region.
1st Stage
8:30 h.: Preparation and review of canoes and safety standards at l’Ampolla Beach. Reviews of the rules and measures such as beacons marked on the beach.
9:30 h.: Kick off
Regrouping in Portet beach before redirecting to Punta de Moraira and start the crossing once again. Remember this is NOT a Competition, is an activity to enjoy the coast.
Distance of 1st stage: 6 Km (3.24 Nautical Miles)
Route: L’Ampolla Beach, Torre Centinela, Marina, Portet de Moraira Beach, Punta de Moraira, Morro de Tamarit, Lebeche Cove, Punta del Aldera, Los Pegados Isles, Cueva de los Arcos Cave and Moraig Beach.
Participants might choose either disembark and enjoy the beach or go hiking and not following the 2nd stage.
2nd Stage from Moraig to Granadella and Back
Distance of 2nd Stage: 10 Km (5.40 Nautical Miles).
Route: Moraig Beach, Testos Cove, Granadella Cove (Xàbia) and back to Moraig Beach for picnic lunch at 13:30 h. catered by de “La Cuina de Xaro”.
3rd Stage from Moraig to l’Ampolla Beach
Distance: 6 Km (3.24 Nautical Miles)
Departure time: 15:30 h.
