Sahara photo exhibition
“Sahara desert of hope” is the title of the photographic exhibition that offers an overview of the actual situation of the Saharawi people. The Department of Social Services opened the exhibition last 26 March at Benitachell library (11, Alicante Avenue).
The aim of the exhibition is to create awareness about the problems of the Saharawi people, its history and international policy positions that together, affect the life and rights of thousands of refugees.
The municipal department pointed out that the relationship of Benitachell with Sahara has been close in recent years because several local families host Saharawi children during the summer months.
This exhibition is organized by the Solidarity Circuit of Alicante Provincial Council and Dar Al Karama Association in the framework of the program of awareness on the situation of impoverished countries, human rights, multiculturalism and immigration.
