Lady of Mount Carmel
The festivities in honor of Nuestra Señora de los Desamparados and the Lady of Mount Carmel every year are, among others, the backdrop of the most important celebrations of the town of Moraira. Look below the calendar of events in the framework of this festival:
Wednesday, 13th July:
22:00 h: Free mojito, courtesy of the commission of Moraira holiday 2011.
Gathering of all the fiesta groups at the courtyard of the castle accompanied by Batucada Benissa.
Thursday, 14th July:
9:00 h: Bells toll and great wake-up call (Despertá).
12:00 h. : Bells toll and “Entrà de la Murta”.
19:30 h: Gathering and parades. At the end of the parade there will be a fireworks show.
00:00. Dance party with “La Tribu” band.
Friday, 15th July:
08:00 h: Bells toll and great wake-up call.
11:15 h: Festive attendees gathering.
12:00 h: Mass in honor of the Virgen de los Desamparados.
14:00 h: Great digital Mascletà (firecracker show).
18:00 h: Parade.
21:00 h: Procession in honor of the Virgen de los Desamparados.
00:00 h: Night dance with the Limite Orchestra.
Saturday, 16th July:
8:30 h: Bells toll.
11:15 h: Festive attendees gathering.
12:00 h: Mass in honor of the Lady of Mount Carmel.
13:30 h: Traditional games and activities in the town’s harbour.
18:00 h: Parade of festive brass band accompanied by “the Bataclan”.
19:45 h: Festive attendees gathering.
20:30 h: Land and sea procession in honor of the Lady of Mount Carmel.
00:00 h: Dance party with the Crash band.
Sunday, 17th July:
12:00 h: Festive Parade.
14:00 h Giant Paella in the Senillé Avenue .
16:30 h: Water war in the surroundings of the castle of Moraira.
20:00 h: Grand parade across various streets in Moraira.

Monday, 18th July:
18:30 h: Street bulls at Doctor Calatayud St.
19:00 h: Traditional throwing of bulls to the sea.
23:30 h: Bou embolat (bulls with their horns set on fire, running through the streets).
Tuesday, 19th July:
19:00 h: Traditional throwing of bulls to the sea.
Wednesday, 20th July:
19:00 h: Traditional throwing of bulls to the sea.
Thursday, 21st July:
From noon until late at night bulls will be threw to the sea.
Friday, 22nd July:
From 11:00 h: to 13:00 h: Children’s water wars in Madrid Avenue.
18:00 h: Traditional street games at Dr. Calatayud St.
19:00 h: Theatre play “La Gran Fiesta”, which begins in the church square and then traveling through several streets.
00:00 h: Correfoc around the streets of Moraira (street fireworks war).
01:00 h: Street music in the castle esplanade.
Saturday, 23rd July:
10:00 h: Mass for the repose of all the deceased at the parish.
11:00 h: Free lunch for everyone at the Virgen del Carmen Sq.
18:00 h: VIII Milla Urbana de Moraira.
21:00 h: Brotherhoods and committees dinner at Doctor Calatayud St.
00:00 h: Ball with the Zeppelin Orchestra.
