Moors and Christians in Moraira
The traditional Moros y Cristianos –Moors and Christians-2011 fiesta at Teulada-Moraira is in June, and the Schedule of events is as follows:
Saturday 11:
14:00 h: Paella contest and water fight
Sunday 12:
19:00 h: Start of the International Jazz, Folk, Rock and Country Music Festival.
Monday 13:
18:00 h: Start of the billboards, photos, and literary and kids pictures exhibition. Location: Espai la Senieta.
Tuesday 14:
21:00 h: English Choir concert at the church
Wednesday 15:
22:00 h: Prizes handover to the winners of the contests. Location: Iglesia Street.
22:30 h: teulada Music Band concert. Location: Iglesia Square.
Thursday 16:
19:15 h: Music bands parade.
19:30 h: Official start of the Fiestas: Waving of the Junta Central and Filas flags while harquebuses (old shotgun) are shot.
22:00 h: Marches from the Castillo del Banderín Castle: Junta Central, Embajadores and the music bands will join in.
22:30 h: Filas’ standards collection
22:45 h: Official presentation of the standards and mobile discoteque
Friday 17:
13:00 h: Parade.
13:30 h: Harquebuses shoots.
19:00 h: Flower offerings to the Holy Christ of Moraira.
23:00 h: Moor conquest at l’Ampolla beach, followed by the Moor embassy (representation) and next, mobile discoteque.
