Tourist info Benitachell
The new office of tourist information of Benitachell opens its doors to the public. The new premises opened at Plaza del Mecado Square began to offer citizen services after the older location (Font Road) was shut for reforms. Thus, the office that will be operative during the next peak season will be the one located at town center.
As Councilor for Tourism Silvia Mayans explained, the new site of the Tourist Info was chosen by the technicians of the Valencian Agency of Tourism in order to “foster the entry of visitors and tourists to the city center to make it friendlier and easier to get access to the municipal services and resources”
In this sense, Mayans also said that “the move has also been promoted in order to ease the access to the knowledge about the town as an element of interest and get visitors to meet the historic sites, local gastronomy, festivals and other local assets”.
The City Council voted the modification of the agreement of the Local Tourist Info with the Valencian Tourist Board to validate the new board. This modification was supported by the government team, PP and Pideb councilors and was abstaining by representatives of Bloc-Compromís .
The new office will occupy the old Post Office premises (1, Market Street), in the municipal building. The reforms of the new office included changes in distribution of facilities, a new bathroom, new flooring, windows, access door and paint. The budgeted cost was € 15,000 but finally the costs rose in € 3,000 for contingencies arising during the work.
The opening hours of the new tourist office is 9:00 to 15:00 h. Monday through Friday.
