Trekking trails
Today we bring a new sporting and touristic proposal for those who enjoy trekking activities around the Marina Alta area. These activities will be carried out during nighttime under the moonlight.
Saturday 2 August Javea–Portixol:
The route starts at 20:00 h. in the Blanca Cove of Jávea covering the route of Portixol Cross, Cap Prim, Barraca Cove and Portixol. This route offers superb views of the wilderness and historical sites. This is a low impact, circular route of 8 km that can be completed in 4 hours.
Friday 9 August Benissa Ecologic trip: Linear night trek 8 km estimated to be done in four hours. This low impact route starts at 20:30 h. from the Tourist Info at Benissa Beach.
This coastline trek offers both day and night stunning views, and interesting information about history, botanical richness and charm of seaside villages located between the wild and the urban touristic, between nature and culture and under the moon and stars.
Friday 16 August Vall Gallinera
16 Km long, low impact circular route that can be done in 4 hours. The route starts at 20:00 h. from L’Aplec Bar Restaurant.
Trek starts in Benialí and follows the villages of Benisiva, Benitaia, La Carroja and Alpatró. The Vall Gallinera route offers us the peace and summer nightlife of the rural area of the Marina Alta area.
A local expression says “a l’estiu tot el món víu” (During summer, everybody at the streets)
Friday 23 August Pego-Oliva
Departure from Tourist info Pego (transport to Montañeta Verda in private vehicles) at 20:30 h. This trek to Marjal de Pego (one of the emblems of our region) is great for entire family due to its low difficulty. Pego natural protection area was declared in 1995 and comprises mainly large rice terraces. Rivers Bullent and Racon are born within the park and Serpis river cross lies along the north border of this natural area.
In this journey we will see the typical wetlands biodiversity including beautiful examples of lily, Bova, rattan, yellow lily and marsh fauna such as samarrucs, punxosets and marsh eels.
This circular night route of 9 Km in length can be done in 4 hours.
