The Legal Advisory Service of Benitachell’s Department of Social Welfare has recently launched a foreclosures mediation service. This service is free of charge and is intended to inform advice and -if necessary- to make mediation between the house owners and the banks. Benitachell town officers explained that the service is offered to residents of homes located in town who are at risk of social exclusion or eviction.
This service supports people who require information about monthly payments mortgage alternatives, consequences of a possible default, mediation with lender before a possible future default and legal advice when debtor is already immerse in a lawsuit.
Councilman Manolo Segarra says that “this service aims to help people who might lose their home, now when many families are facing a hard economic situation”
The Municipal Legal Service reminds that anyone who needs advice on this matter and others like housing, local housing taxes and rental assistance and can attend to the Department of Social Services on Tuesdays and Fridays, from 9:00 to 14:00 h.
