On Tuesday 9 October we are all invited to the celebrations of the Valencia Region day, including children games, crafts exhibition and workshops, food stalls and performances in Poble Nou de Benitachell.
The success of last year’s celebration made the local clubs and associations to organize once again the 9 October festivities as an event made with the participation of everyone.
Twelve associations and several town offices will offer amusement options from 10:00 to 13:00 h. Around 14:00 h. there will be an exhibition of traditional Valencia Jota dances performed by Grup de Danses Morro Falqui and after that, there will be a traditional lunch at Jose Antinio and Mayor St. For attending to this popular lunch, you must purchase a ticket in advance.
The evening events will begin with the music of la Colla la Llebetjà, and then the entrance of Ben-Abiar Moors and Christians brotherhoods and Santa Maria Magdalena municipal band, who will recreate the conquest of Valencia by King Jaume, back in 1238. After that, there will be a Seville Flamenco dance exhibition along with the performances of popular Valencias songs. The noght will end with hot chocolate for everyone brought by the Merchants Association.
Councillor of Culture Silvia Mayans, thanks the involvement all association members for making possible this festival and invites everyone in town to participate in this celebration.
