Since 4 September, eGovernment is in operation at Poble Nou de Benitachell. Many residents of Benitachell have already used this new digital platform and we can realize how people progressively prefer to use this service from home instead of attending to town offices.

Through this service, citizens can check at any time the proceedings status and avoid unnecessarily visits or phone calls to government office.

The eGovernment service is still under the first phase of the implementation and staff training, and during the coming days the electronic platform will be fully operative in all departments and municipal services. In a second phase of the implementation process, all city employees will be able to work under eGovernment platforms.

According to the working plan, in late September the implementation of the platform will be completed and in late October the electronic office will be working at full throttle.

This new tool was built through the “Gestiona” software in the framework of the Plan Moderniza 6.0 of Alicante Province Council aimed to reduce times, costs and number of redundant public employees.

Mayor Josep Femenia -who personally attended the first citizens to enroll in this system-, said that “this new tool is a breakthrough to achieve a modern and efficient administration and to achieve a new, contemporary model according to the needs of citizens and granting a faster, more dynamic and easy access”.

Manolo Segarra, councilor for New Technologies, explained that “the modernization and improvement of resident service has been a clear objective of the government team”.
