Benitachell fiestas in honour of the Virgin of the Rose
The “Fiestas de la Rosa 2012” ( Benitachell’s Rose Festival 2012) festival started in Benitachell last Wednesday 2 May, and for the next 10 days will bring lots of activities an amusing events for everyone.
Check the program below for more information about the activities scheduled for the next few days:
Saturday 5 May
10:00 h.: School children walk through the Benitachell streets
11:30 h.: Opening of the decorated balconies and facades contest,
19:15 h.: Performance of Morro Flaquí dance group and flower offerings
Later that night, there will be a musical performance of Montecarlo Orchestra at Plaça Nova.
Sunday 6 May “Day of the Virgin of the Rose”.
11:00 h.: The blessed breads will be taken to the church, where Mass will be held in honor of the Rose.
12:30 h.: Blessed breads will be handed to everyone in town house by house. Later in the afternoon, “Santa María Magdalena” local music band will perform to celebrate its 25th anniversary.
20:30 h.: Procession in honor of Mare de Deu de la Rosa, Sant Pancraç Màrtir and Sant Lluís Gonzaga. After the procession, there will be a fireworks show, street discotheque music and drinks for all at low prices.
Monday 7 May
14:00 h.: Paella contest with prizes for 3 best dishes, theater plays and chocolate drinks.
From Tuesday 8 to Friday 11 May: “Bulls on the Street” every afternoon and evening.
Saturday 12 May
“Sant Pancraç” day celebrations with lunch at affordable prices in the parking lot of the school. At 13:00 h. the Mayor of Sant Pancraç will dictate the rules to be followed by citizens during the entire day and later that evening will be held the traditional costume contest.
