This year, the “Mercat de Nadal” (Christmas Market) in Teulada will be held on Sunday 4 December from 09:00 to 19:00 h. and, like every year, this traditional event will focus the attention of the whole Marina Alta area. About 200 stands will participate in this fair among individuals, associations and retailers who will offer handicrafts, ornaments, Christmas items, bargain items, local cuisine and many things more. This year’s market will also offer new activities and games for children including bouncy castles, clowns and recreational activities.
The Christmas Market of Teuladahas a long tradition of offering typical products of the region as “pastissets of moniato” (Sweet Potato Cakes), home-made sausages and local products offered by Sant Vicent Ferrer Agricultural Cooperative of Teulada like sweet wine, raisins and vermouth.
This year’s market will be very special for the local wine industry because there are new image, bottled and labeled of the local red and sparkling wines under the trade name “Pythagoras” available in bottles of Moscatell de Aguja, Moscatell d ‘ Or, dry white wine and Sparkling Moscatell.
Also, you can taste the typical chestnut roasting, corn cobs, a variety of homemade Christmas sweets, candies, nuts and dates. The handcraft sale in this shopping fair includes crafts made of willow and clay, pottery and jewelry.
The City Council reported that in case of not being possible to place the Christmas Market on Sunday 4 December due to bad weather, it will be postponed to Sunday 18 December.
The fee paid by the sellers in this market will be donated to the local Red Cross charity.
