Wrapping Up the Region of Valencia Tennis Challenge

Wrapping Up the Region of Valencia Tennis Challenge

Last weekend we hosted the Region of Valencia Tennis Challenge, a very important professional sporting event, given it was the first to take place in Spain after the state of alarm was declared in March due to the COVID-19 crisis.

Held in our Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol sports centre, four TOP 100 tennis players on the ATP circuit participated in the event: Roberto Bautista, Pablo Carreño, Alex de Miñaur and Pablo Andújar. During the two daily matches that were played, the players competed using the round-robin format in which the winner would be the best of 3 sets.

The event got underway on Friday, the 5th and it was De Miñaur who scored highest with 6-3, 6-2 over Andujar. The latter executed his plays very well and gave a good fight, but it wasn’t enough to beat De Miñaur.

During the second match, Carreño and Bautista competed in a close game in which Carreño defended his position expertly. However, in the end, it wasn’t quite enough, as Bautista obtained a 6-4, 6-4 victory.

The event continued into its second day on Saturday when Andujar and Bautista went head to head. Bautista sought his second consecutive victory after beating Carreño on Friday and achieved it in just two games with a score of 6-1, 6-1.

The match between De Miñaur and Carreño followed. The young Australian, who had already beaten Andujar on Friday, almost lost the first set, but then was able to recover during the second set with only one break. He rose to victory with a score of 7-5, 6-4.

Finally, on the third day of the event, the organization had to make the difficult decision to cancel the final matches due to heavy rain that made it impossible to finish.

At VAPF, we are proud to be able to take part in an event of this nature and this is why we are working to make Cumbre del Sol one of the benchmark residential developments on the Costa Blanca.

2019 Summer Events at Cumbre del Sol Residential Resort

2019 Summer Events at Cumbre del Sol Residential Resort

Cumbre del Sol Residential Resort is a little piece of paradise in which, thanks to its warm temperatures, you can make the most of all year-round. Summer 2019 has been no different, and we’ve had a calendar full of events and new happenings. Did you miss any of them? Here you’ll find a summary of all our events.

On June 23rd, we celebrated the magical St. John’s Eve to kick off the summer. This time around it was held at the La Cumbre Restaurant, where we were surrounded by a spectacular atmosphere and delightful views. The residents enjoyed a pleasant dinner and at midnight they made their wishes by the bonfire for the coming year. Those who opted to stay and continue the celebrations danced the night away until the wee hours of the morning.

On July 21st, as has become tradition here at VAPF, we commemorated Belgian National Day with neighbours and friends. This was the 3rd edition of the event which brought out over 200 people! The guests enjoy a welcome cocktail, dinner, a photocall, and music. In addition, the little ones had a great time with the entertainers and the older folks were able to participate in a raffle with great giveaways. Things were later livened up with a firework show as well as a singer who delighted us with her voice from the pool area, creating a festive atmosphere.

In August, we celebrated another special event, the 3rd Classic Car Rally. On this occasion, we collaborated with the Vehícles Històrics La Marina association of Benissa. The cars left from Benissa to drive to Restaurant La Cumbre, where they were on display all evening. Attendees celebrated the night with a dinner, music and a fun photocall.

In addition, on the 25th, the Tour of Spain passed through the residence and we were able to watch it from our villas. Guests were able to see everything from the front line while enjoying an aperitif and a meal that included music.

It’s important to note that they haven’t all been one-time events! During July and August, we offered free yoga sessions located in beautiful outdoor settings: Tuesdays at 7:00 pm at Cala del Moraig and Thursdays at 9:00 am at Mirador dels Testos, two locations in which our residents could get up close and connect with nature and the sounds of the sea.

Two padel tennis tournaments and one tennis tournament were held for our most sporty residents, in collaboration with Dylan Mary Tennis Academy on the padel and tennis courts at Cumbre del Sol Residential Resort.

It was a summer filled with events for all tastes and styles and we want to take the time to take all those who participated.

Welcome the new season through the Cycle of Spring Concerts in Benitatxell!

Welcome the new season through the Cycle of Spring Concerts in Benitatxell!

The arrival of spring doesn’t just bring us more pleasant temperatures, it also means the arrival of interesting activities like the 13th Cycle of Spring Concerts in Poble Nou de Benitatxell. Every Saturday in March, at 8pm, you will have the chance to enjoy some live music at the Santa María Magdalena church where the Marina Alta orchestra got this musical month off to the best start with their tribute to Mozart.

The music genres that attendees will enjoy are undoubtedly varied: the programme offers traditional, with regional music heard in celebrations, more classical music, and modern sounds like jazz.

After the Marina Alta Orchestra concert, on the 9th March, there is something a bit different – the 7th Young Performers Competition. This contest aims to boost the interest of Benitatxell’s young people in music and the study of music.

On Saturday 16th March, the saxophone quartet Púrpura Dansa will fill the Santa María Magdalena church with the music of famous composers such as Grieg, Dvorak, Valero-Castells and Piazzolla. The quintet Reversió Grup brings the traditional sound of the dulzaina to the present day, accompanied by piano and percussion.

The 30th March brings the turn of local music from the Costa Blanca with two-step pieces and music from the Festivals of Moors and Christians. Finally, the municipal music group of Santa María Magdalena will be responsible for saying farewell to the 13th Cycle of Spring Concerts in Benitatxell.
