Christmas street markets
Would you like to take part in the Benitachell’s Christmas Market 2012? You already can register in this street seasonal market organized by the City of Poble Nou de Benitachell and is scheduled for Sunday 9 December. The Economic Development and Festivals Councils planned a full day with activities for all ages as a kickoff for the holiday season.
There is a very special schedule planned for this year aimed to repeat the success of last year market. The trade fair will offer a wide variety of products displayed in the stands located in the Mayores and José Antonio Streets. The entertainment will be on charge of several musical performances, children plays and musicals, arrival of Christmas cards loaded in the bags of the Christmas “burreta” (dorkey) and many other activities from 10:00 and 17:00 h.
Christmas School in Benitachell
During the next Christmas the Town of Poble Nou de Benitachell will open “Christmas School”, so working parents can leave their children in a nice environment with funny activities under the qualified personnel supervision during the holiday’s school break.
Christmas School will be open from 27 to 30 December, 2011 and from 2 to 4 January from 09:00 to 13:00 h. This activity is aimed for children from 3 to 12 years old and the price for it is just 25 € with lunch included.
Christmas events by Xabia Historica
eve The shopkeepers association Xabia Historica has planned a series of activities to cheer up the city atmosphere during the Christmas season:
Thursday 23th December:
17:45 h: Polar Express, movie for kids. In Casa de Cultura. Free admission.
20:00 h: Santa Claus parade with Christmas Carols. The starting point will be Mercat Municipal. It will finish in Plaza de la Iglesia.
The Three Wise Men and Santa come to Benitachell
As Christmas arrives, each town organises a themed street market and the arrival of both Santa Claus and the Three Wise Men. A festive town like Benitachell is no exception to this rule: Everything is already set up for the enjoyment of the youngest members of the family.
On 20th and 21st December, there will be auditions to enter the Municipal School of Music under the direction of Antoni Josep Catalá Buigues, at 17:00 h. The Municipal School of Music is located in 10Plaza Nueva. Every year, this school organises activities linked to music learning; music kindergarten, introduction to music, dulzaina, oboe, etc. People can also sign up for dance lessons, on different levels. The school is also responsible for other cultural activities such as band members exchange, concerts and auditions.
